Where can I get nail polish racks from? (stores most states have)?

Ebonie

Obsessed with nail polish, I recently decided I wanted to start a nail polish collection. I always wanted to keep it safe. I am in love with beautiful solid colors. (Dont really like nail art) Really want it to look fancy like salons. Help please.

Amazon works, but the cheapest way I know of is get a large spice rack from any store (The Container Store has a bunch of good ones) I got a simple plastic one that expands and it holds over 75 bottles (I also have a large collection, I'm quite the nail fanatic myself). mine works great :)

What are some Nail ideas?

Elizabeth

i'm bored of just painting my nails a basic shade, i do have a nail pen and just about every shade of every colour. i've heard of some cool ideas like crackle nail polish or newspaper nails and any more suggestions would be great :) also i don't really like the basic drawing a heart with a pen or anything

Answer
A few years ago I was in the exact same position as you but I found some really great ideas and now my nails are always perfectly manicured! (everyone thinks I go to the spa to get them done).
These are some great ideas:
1. Crackled/Blasted/Shattered
2. Newspaper nails
3. Water Marbling
4. Tips
5. French Manicured
6. Basic Drawing (you said you didn't like it though, so I won't talk about it)
7. Different patterns with a nail pen

1. Buy crackled/blasted or shattered from different spas/salons/stores and try them out on matte colours! It turns out amazing!
2. Newspaper Nails- you know what that is
3. Water Marbling- Find amazing recipes on the internet for it. I've never tried it but it probably works out.
4. Tips- Apply base coat, make sure nails are long, trimmed, not jagged, buffed and filed. Paint 2 coats of Ocean Love Potion by Sephora by OPI (or any greenish blue deep colour---almost matte), then paint 2 coats on just the tips of a black with sparkles in it (Sephora 212 by Sephora by OPI) or a regular black but then put a sparkly top coat on just the tips. Top coat to seal. Love it while it lasts!
5. French Manicured- Buy a beautiful white and light almost base coat pale pink. Apply base coat (ex. "Rimmel" Base coat/top coat <<recommendation) and make sure your nails are long, trimmed, filed and buffed. Also, make sure they aren't jagged. Once base coat is dry, paint the tips of your nails a beautiful white (ex. essie's "Blanc" white<<< recommendation). Once first coat of white on tips of nails is totally dry, do one more coat and once that is dry, move on to applying the almost-top coat pale pink. Use it like any other base coat (ex. Essie's "Sugar Daddy" <<recommendation).
Next, apply top coat to seal. Enjoy! It's super trendy, affordable and never goes out of style. Love it :)
6. Basic Drawing- you don't like it.
7 Different patterns with a nail pen- Apply base coat, make sure nails are completely dry, buffed, filed, cut, trimmed and not jagged. Next paint nails a deep blue (ex. Sephora by OPI's 'blue grotto' limited edition or "Skinny Jeans" by Sephora by OPI). Once 2 coats are dry, take a white nail pen and draw random curvy or straight horizontal or vertical lines. Neaten it up. Once dry, do the same with black but in a different direction. Top coat to seal.Enjoy.

Nail Polishes Brands I Recommend:
-China Glaze
-Essie
-OPI
-Sally Hansen
-Sephora by OPI
-Shatters, Crackles and Blasteds <<they can get globby after awhile though
-Nicole by OPI
Any others? Ask.
