What happens if you drink nail polish remover?

-_____-;;

Today at school, a classmate put a nail polish remover pad into someone's water and told someone to drink it. The boy took a sip and realized what was in it, and went to the nurse. He complained of stomach ache and feeling dizzy. He's going to the doctor now, will anything happen to him, even if it was just one sip?

A Dawg

My pencils are like the size of my pinky nail, and pretty much are just the metal and used up eraser.

Answer
Oh, don't trash them yet ! Check out these amazing crafts you can make with these pencil stubs :

You could use them to make interesting & innovative crafts !

eg. picture frames. Glue them along the edges in 3 or more rows & add your artwork as a picture or any photograph, etc.
http://www.diydork.com/colored-pencil-picture-frame/ -- this one has pencils cut into exact lengths & glued at right angles to each edge. A simpler & relatively less formal way would be to glue the pencils [varying lengths] parallel to the edges.
Or like this : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWNi_gwggXc
Yet another way to make a frame : http://www.123rf.com/photo_10503702_frame-made-of-pencils-with-multi-color-border-featuring-mini-pencils-showing-the-concept-of-educatio.html

http://pinterest.com/pin/108016091032806485/ -- simple but lovely jewelry by cutting the pencils & stringing them.
I love the Beads that have been cut from these pencils ! You can use these to create a kind of collage artwork/composition.

http://www.worldsstrangest.com/neatorama/pencil-shoes/ -- Amazing ! Shoes/footwear made from color pencils.

http://www.countryliving.com/cm/countryliving/images/straw-vase-de-57819865.jpg -- easy to make vase. Instead of vase, you can use the container to keep your pens, pencils, brushes, etc. too.
You can also make Coasters & Table Mats or Runner in a similar fashion.

You can create beautiful artwork with color pencil shavings too - check these out : http://www.google.co.in/search?q=pencil+shavings+art&hl=en&client=opera&hs=Kfd&rls=en&channel=suggest&prmd=imvns&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=jqeAT9OyEYrSrQf8t7zvBQ&ved=0CCkQsAQ&biw=800&bih=489 You can use these to make wall hangings/pictures or greeting cards, bookmarks, etc. to gift to friends & family. You can also use the colorful shavings to adorn various items in/around your house. You can decorate gift boxes with the same.

You can actually make stuff with the pencils - it is after all wood. eg. you can make a cardboard frame/box [or use any cartons] & line up the pencils all over & glue. Add a hinge & decorate the interior [line it with velvet or fabric] & you have a beautiful box in which one can store trinkets, etc.

If you need to send out invitations, etc., you can use the longer pencils at 2 opposite ends of a paper or fabric to create a scroll that can be rolled in & out !

Some more images of pencil crafts : http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=pencil+crafts&qs=n&form=QBLH&filt=all&pq=pencil+crafts&sc=0-8&sp=-1&sk=#x153y960

Invent any new game. eg. throwing a fistful on some board & then trying to toss them out of some line with some implement. Create rules with friends & play :)

Enjoy :-)

But i was wondering if they have a more "accurate" or "real" name. Any ideas?

What kind of nail art can i make from these colors?

nail art beginners
on ... - easy nail art for short nails- nail art tutorial- beginners designs
nail art beginners image
Q. I have a metallic silver, a sparkly orange-red, a sparkly regular blue, a matte white, a matte black, a translucent sparkly green as well as translucent neon yellow and sparkly purple. I need something simple to do, I'm just a beginner.

Answer
Are they skinny brushes? If so, try to make a flower out of tear drop type designs. Also you could try making little iPods on your fingers. Or converse. Search "iPod nail tutorial" on YouTube.

I'm a beginner at nail art. How should I do my nails?

Josefin

I want to paint my nails, but am not sure what to do. I have 4 simple colors of nail polish. I want to do something creative, but not too hard. I tried doing the water marbling/tie dye, and it looked really cool, but took forever and made a big mess. This would be just something simple to wear to school, but still really cool. Thanks!
I am not very girly. I have two shades of dark blue, a light purple, and sliver nail polish. Also, I am not very fond of animal print.

Answer
zebra form, perfect

How do i do water nail art on my real nails without it sticking to my whole finger?

nail art 4 all

Kristie I

I want to do water nail art on my nails. But when i stick my finger in the water the polish sticks to my whole finger.

Answer
There's no way to avoid getting some of the polish onto your finger. You just have to be ready with a cotton pad/ball soaked in polish remover to clean up your finger.

So, as soon as you remove your finger from the water, start cleaning. Don't let it dry, or it'll be a nightmare to remove.

You can also try marbling (I assume you're trying to water marble) just as easily with a dotting tool. It's a mess-free alternative with similar affects.

1. Pick your base color, and how ever many other colors you'd like to marble with. I usually choose a bright color for a base, and then a darker color (in the same color family) and white.
2. Apply a generous coat of your base color, it's better to work with colors that have good pigmentation, sheer polishes will not give you the desired effect.
3. Immediately drop 1-2 drops of each marble color onto the nail.
4. Take your dotting tool and make figure 8's, or whatever other marbling pattern you'd like to make.
5. Tap your finger on a flat surface to ensure the nail polish lies flat (good quality nail polish will even itself out) and there are no air bubbles.

You can find a dotting tool at most beauty supply stores, nail art suppliers online (8ty8beauty.com, Head2toebeauty.com), ebay, etc.

Hope this helps!

How do I take care of my Nail Art Brushes Properly?

Miss N e k

I'v been using nail art brushes for a while now and I just got a really nice brush set with lots of small fine tipped brushes, my problem with them is no matter how carefull I am about cleaning them and storing them little hairs on my brushes will get pulled and tugged and not be together the tip, so when I use them I will get small lines of single hairs having polish on them. So any good tips in nail brush care? :]

Answer
Ooh, nail art brushes are super delicate. Here's a trick you can try:

1. Nail art is done with nail polish, of course, and nail polish will only break down in nail polish remover. So put about a centimeter's height of nail polish remover in a clean glass (not plastic cup, the acetone may dissolve it).

2. Get ahold of some clothespins. You'll need two for each brush.

3. Dip the tip of the brush in the glass so that the entire brush head is submerged but not touching the bottom of the glass (you want to preserve that fine tip). Put more remover in if necessary.

4. Use two clothespins to keep the brush at this height. They may tip the brush at an angle, but as long as it's submerged and not pressed against the bottom of the glass, that's all you need.

5. Check back periodically to see if the polish has loosened. Gently try to remove as much as possible. If any stubborn polish remains, put the brush back in.

Of course, this really only works if you don't use plastic or synthetic brushes, since the acetone can damage them.

Do you think it is okay to wear just to my dance club??
BQ: I asked my mum to paint my nails with this color, but she says it's too bold, and I should find another much lighter color. Why won't she let me wear it??

Answer
Honestly, I think it's a dazzling color. But, it all depends on what you're wearing. Maybe if you're wearing a bold colored dress, she might think it would look a little tacky. Color blocking is a thing now though. A few bold colors together is good as long as it matches and isn't too much! Good luck at your dance and with your mom!

How can I paint my nails so it lasts longer and doesn't peel or chip?

--

Also, how long should I let the polish dry between coats?

Answer
Put a clear coat on your nail then put two coats of the nail polish on and then put another clear coat on the top then it shouldn't chip or peal.
It depends on the brand some dry faster then others. Here is something you can do to when it is dry:

Wait like 30-60 seconds after applying, turn on the faucet in your bathroom to very, very cold, like ice cold. hold your hands, palm down and let the cold water hit your hands and flow down over your fingernails (don't put them straight under the water as the pressure will cause the paint to move). the water has to be very cold, but it will speed up the drying process and your nails will be done in no time. i do it all the time! also a bowl filled with cold water & ice works.

I'm visiting San Antonio in a couple of weeks and just for fun, I want to compare their prices of everyday things to New York's so I'll be prepared =D

Price of a bottle of water? A slice of pizza? A cup of coffee?

Answer
Water - 99 cents to $2.00 depending on whether it's ozarka or fiji
A slice of pizza - $2.00 to $4.00 depending on where you go, but Little Caesars sells whole pizzas for $5. Pizza Italia is great! Double Dave's in Alamo Heights has a buffet that is wonderful. Or go to Twin Sisters for a sandwich and soup for about $5.00, yumm. And then go to the McNay Art Museum next door where there are Renau's and O'Keefe's.
A cup of Coffee - I prefer to mix 1/2 cup of decaf with a blend of vanilla cappicino and add some vanilla syrup. It's 89Cents if you go to Valero convenience store and it's delicious! Or go to Starbucks for $3.50 minimum. But, that's ambience. Or go to HEB Central Market and get it for about $2.00 and walk around the store and try some of the other wonderful food samples. It's free to do this.
A gallon of Milk is $3-$4.50.
Gasoline is $2.75-3.95 depending on where you fill up.
Having your nails manicured and feet pedicured around $35.
If you do fills it's $55. A nice deep tissue massage is about $40 for 1 hour. I go to the place near HEB off Brookhollow and Hwy 281 (also sometimes called San Pedro) near Hollywood Park.
Haircut and style for about $20 - $30 for women. I prefer Visible Changes at Northstar.
A cute swimsuit right now in July will cost you about $30-$40 at Macy's also at Macy's. I bought 3 for about $50.
I also went to buy 3 Yoga exercise videos and 5 Suzie in the City and Susan Lawrence blouses at Ross (saw the same blouses at Macy's for $120). At Ross, I got it for $30.
Then I ate at La Madeline for $10 a wonderful Salmon Salad. At Broadway across for Central Market HEB. Another at Northwoods at 1604 and 281. I had so much I couldn't eat it all and saved the rest for later.
Ordinary things.

I'm really terrible at doing nail art with my left hand, so I thought it would be best to do nail art on fake nails and then apply them after they're dry. How do I hold them in place without touching the surface while I paint them? Please help; I'm so frustrated!

Answer
get the ones with the tabs on them that you break off when applied and tape that to the table or work space. then when applying to your fingers, use crazy glue. it will hold them much longer than the nail glue :) hope this helps!

where can i get the opi shatter nail polish besides at salons?

Julia

i really want the opi shatter nail polish but i don't want to go to a salon or something to get it and i don't want to order it offline i would rather get it in person and i was wondering if places like target have it or cvs or walgreens have it... if you have any suggestions please say them... thanks!

Answer
You can buy it anywhere you can buy OPI polishes that regularly come out with the new collections (so even though Target sells OPI, you won't find the new collection there. And no, Sally's, Sephora, and MAC do NOT sell OPI). You can buy it at Ulta, JC Penney salons, Trade Secret, or possibly some salons near you. Recently, OPI sent out another batch of these polishes. My Ulta was totally stocked last time I was there. You can also go to OPIs website (www.OPI.com) and in the top right corner is a "Where to Buy" link.
If you cannot find it, China Glaze has a line of 6 different colors of crackle polish (black, teal, pink, grey, purple, white). You can buy them at Sally's, though they might be sold out as well because they had more colors than just black. You might be able to find these online, too.
There are also other brands besides OPI and China Glaze that have crackle polishes. You'll have better luck searching with the name Crackle as opposed to Shatter. Crackle polishes actually came out back in the 90s by CoverGirl. OPI just renamed it to "shatter".
Some other brands that sell crackles are LaRosa, IsaDora, and Barry M. Also know that OPI is releasing several more crackles in different colors in the coming months.

How do I remove spray paint from a plastic computer?

TheDoors

My brother found me one of those cool imacs from the 90s that are clear plastic with another color. For some reason the person who had it before me spray painted silver over top of it which I want to get off.

Could I use nail polish remover to get the paint off? I just don't want to ruin the computer or anything (you know, more ruined than it already is).

Answer
I'm sorry to tell you this but any solvent you try to use on it will ruin it more. They would melt the plastic. Especially nail polish remover which is acetone. That really would melt it. About the only thing you can do in this case is to repaint it a color you are happier with.I've tried everything under the sun to remove paint from you name it as you see I was a department manager for the paint department for many years. Of course I had to experiment on what will and what won't take paint off of things and you won't get it off that computer. Sorry to bring bad news.

nail polish history facts image
Q. From the beginning of mankind, beauty and cosmetics have always been significant. A "cosmetic" is a substance applied to a person's body to promote attractiveness or alter appearance1. If you had not known this fact, then you most likely have been living under a rock all your life and are clueless to reality. Now, I am not saying we live in a completely vain society, because if you go back to any time in history--the higher your level of beauty, the higher your status in religion, society, and wealth. Archaeologists have determined that the use of cosmetics has been around as early as the Ancient Egyptians, but to be honest, who is to say that beauty products have not been around longer? Nevertheless, the need to look attractive or beautiful has seemingly been crucial to society since the birth of men, and woman of course.

The Ancient Egyptians are a prime example of a society that revolves around beauty. The expression "cleanliness is next to Godliness" derived from this time, because they believed that if you display beauty by your physical appearance and scent, then that directly determined your level of spirituality2. The Ancient Egyptians used natural formulas made of oils, fat and minerals to overcome their skin's challenges. They made cosmetic products to get rid of stretch marks, shrink wrinkles, get rid of scars and make hair grow, as well as eye makeup, face creams, body oils, perfumes and fragrances.3 âNecessity is the mother of inventionâ4 was a crucial term that made emphasis on looking beautiful that Egyptian woman found a way method to achieve their look using Mesdemet. The "cat eye", made famous by the Egyptians, was eye makeup applied to the eye in the form of a wing, and mesdemet and Kohl were their secret weapons.5 Mesdemet was an eyeshadow â- a combination of copper and lead ore, which was originally green, but black became popular also and had been thought to have health-giving properties, such as a disinfectant and an insect repellent. Then Kohl used as an eyeliner, made of a mixture of burnt almonds, oxidized copper, lead and ocher, was applied with a small twig. The dark colours used on the eyes reflect back on their spiritual beliefs, as it did not only enhance their appearance but it warded off "evil eyes", to which means those who have the power to glare at you, and can inflict injury or pain.6 Due to the large quantity of insects in Egypt, the Egyptians had shaved their heads and assembled or purchased wigs. One thing that separated the upper class from the lower class in Ancient Egypt were the wings. Upper class people could afford to buy wigs made of human hair, while cheaper wigs were made of vegetable fibers, wool or small grouped strands of hair â much similar to our modern hair extensions â were woven through the hair. 7 As time moved forward, Greeks and Romans became more involved with the Egyptians, therefore the connection between spirituality and cosmetics changed, such as beauty products becoming an aphrodisiac, meaning to arouse sexual pleasure. However, cosmetics being used for vanity had not changed, but the new Roman lifestyle had no boundaries and far less morals with their mud and crocodile excrement baths and nail polish solely made of sheep fat and blood.8
Now say we fast-forward in time, would things be different? Very much so. During the Middle Ages, the "pale face" was the new fad.9 This look defined your place in society as those who were tanned, were citizens who had to work in the fields for a living, compared to those who were rich and had no reason to go outside.10 Both woman and men used a powder made of hydroxide, carbonate, and lead oxide which caused many people to get lead poisoning, but since being beautiful was important, they had later found an alternative â zinc oxide.11 Many people would use a blue-tinted paint to draw faint blue lines on their foreheads and key areas to give them a translucent appearance. Rouges and red powders had been applied to the cheeks, for a flushed appearance which promoted youth, and sexual arousal especially when contrasted against white skin.12 Another odd cosmetic practice was blackening teeth for a rotting appearance.13 If someone were wealthy, they could afford sugar. So with plenty of sugar and no basic hygiene, including a toothbrush, many rich people's teeth would rot over time.
As time advanced to the 1920s, the âwashed-outâ look carried on, however both fashion and cosmetic trends began to change in 1923, when the infamous French fashion designer, Coco Chanel went on a cruise along the French Riviera, where she accidentally encountered a tan.14 After that, the âtannedâ look became popular, as it became a modern symbol of wealth and status, as those who were rich enough to go on a vacation in temperate and tropical climates. The âtannedâ look replaced the pale look, as tanning oils and bronzers were being produced along with âskimpie
... âskimpierâ fashion trends.

Many people in the society look to make-up as being a necessity, while many wonder how it ever became significant. Truth is, it has always had an importance on this planet since the beginning of time. It has been used to show a status of spirituality, wealth, vanity, health and entertainment. From Ancient Egypt to Europe during the Middle Ages to the 1920s â nationwide - the world of beauty and cosmetology will continue to expand and grow beyond its 'limits' with new trends, beliefs and significance. Its reasons for being may evolve over time, but its purpose will always looped around one general idea â beauty.

Answer
Right off the bat.. "If you had not known this fact, then you most likely have been living under a rock all your life and are clueless to reality." Is this for school? Sentences like this one have no place in an essay for school. It is also kind of insulting. Your tone is way to conversational and informal for something for an English class or any other class except for maybe creative writing! The content is interesting though, so you've got that going for you. But remember that you must cite your sources for every bit of information that you use in your essay that you didn't think of all by yourself (just about everything in this essay).

Newspaper/Journal articles about chemistry?

Jellybean

I need a newspaper or journal article (from a reliable source) about chemistry for a science assignment.
Something simple, and at a grade 9 level.
Can you get me a link to an article that I could use?
Any help will be appreciated!
Thank you!
jeez, very helpful (first 2 answers)..
i've already tried google.
and why would you answer the question at all if you didn't know anything about chemistry?
make that the first 3 answers..
guys, please don't bother answering the question unless you can help..
thanks!

Answer
You have to write something about chemistry?
Okay you can write about when or how chemistry started. You can also write about the importance of chemistry. Inshallah I helped and good luck!
Please don't copy word for word.
The Importance of Chemistry in Daily Life

Most people have chosen to write their essay about how chemistry has played an important role in everyday life. I have chosen to ask, how doesn't it play a role in everyday life? The simple fact is that chemistry plays an important role in every person's daily activities from the moment we're born.
So what role does chemistry really play in everyday life? Well, this involvement usually begins first thing each morning. Most people wake up to an alarm or radio. These common household items contain batteries, which make them very chemically dependent. These batteries contain positive and negative electrodes. The positive electrode consists of a carbon rod surrounded by a mixture of carbon and manganese dioxide. The negative electrode is made of zinc. Chemistry plays an important role in the discovery and understanding of materials contained in these and many other common household items. Things like household cleaners and water purification systems are vitally dependent on chemistry. Without chemistry something as simple as scrubbing a toilet without fear of severe burns or small explosions might not be possible.
Next, though it isn?t widely known, chemistry is also heavily involved with the manufacturing of things such as makeup and soap. Each time you bathe you are witnessing chemistry at work. Chemicals such as cetyl alcohol and propylene glycol are typical ingredients in the soap used to wash your hair and skin. Without chemistry, these materials (or combinations of these materials) might be hazardous or might not exist. The chemical coloring agents used in makeup and nail polish would not be possible without an understanding of the chemicals involved.
Almost anything you do during the course of a normal day involves chemistry in some way. The gas and tires in cars we drive, the makeup we put on our faces, the soaps and cleaners used everyday, burning wood or other fossil fuels, chemistry is all around you each and every day. The associations are practically limitless. So, as you go about your daily activities, remember to thank chemistry. As my teacher always says, remember, "CHEMISTRY IS LIFE!"

The History of Chemistry

Chemistry is the science of the composition and structure of materials and of the changes that materials undergo. It is also used in improving standards of living, making it possible for such substances as rubber, nylon, and plastics to be made from completely different materials. New materials and new properties of old materials are always being discovered. Some earlier products discovered from chemical reactions are ceramics, glass, and metals. Dyes and medicines were other early products obtained from natural substances. Some practical applications that chemistry is used for are to make stronger metals, improve soil, and the developments of live-saving drugs. Modern technology depends highly on these advancements; chemistry is a way of explaining our material world. Many people can't understand the importance of chemistry if they aren't planning on being a chemist. What many people don't realize is that chemistry provides employment to people in laboratories, universities, schools, and businesses

I don't have any nail polish remover and I need to get rid of my nail polish. Any home ingredients or techniques I can use to get rid of it fast???

Answer
It's not the best suggestion, but if nothing else works, try adding a clear nail polish on top and then wiping it off before it dries with a piece of cloth or something. Don't use cotton balls since the little fibers will just stick to your nail. You can also use a colored nail polish, just less messy with a clear polish.

How does nail polish remover affect hair?

I've seen that hair extension removers have the same ingredients and smell exactly like nail polish removers. They dissolve the keratin glue. Do they affect human hair in a bad way..? Weaken it? Or is it safe to use?

Answer
Doesn't sound like a good idea to me. Use what is meant to be used to remove hair extentions and nothing else.

Marble nail art ???? ;o?

Diana

So I've tried doing this before but it won't work -.-
My mom said it was probably the water , but I really don't know.
Does the water have to in a tempeture ?
Ugh please help me !! :(

Answer
Nail art > Marble pattern
http://www.nail-art-101.com/water_marble_nail_art.html

how they describe in tutorial,
is that you drop in sets of rings, shape with pin, but not outer layer,
you don not use until touch dried as one piece,
then scoop out around nail as later, and remove section on skin and leave on nail,

if you really do not want polish remover on skin, suggest use skin cream around nail first, but that may interfere with water or paint polish, you could try watercolour masking fluid, and remove after done, polish remover is acetone, there is alcohol alternative in case toxic,

http://www.wikihow.com/Create-a-Marble-Nail-Effect-Using-Water

why not just have sets of colours on palette, and apply to nails one by one in same later sequence, and swirl with toothpick as patterns,

nail polish 1 finger different color image

Molly

Alright-I completely understand that most guys don't give a damn what color girls nails are; most don't even take notice. BUT I wear nail polish more as a thing for myself. Here's my question, if you had to pick a color that you thought was most attractive, what would you pick? What about the length of the nails? Square or rounded?

This is for guys to answer, girls opinions are going to be completely different than mens.

Answer
As a guy, I prefer women with relatively long nails (3/8 to 1/2 inch over the finger tip) and red. A lot depends on the woman's hands and fingers. If she possesses long slender fingers, then red is certainly the color to wear. It attracts attention very quickly and is a traditional color. If the hands and fingers are not attractive, then short nails and clear. Perhaps the following link will help.

If my thumb nails are really cracked and knackered due to lack of nutrients can they recover?

hevz

I haven't been getting enough nutrients for a long time and my thumb nails are really gross, cracked and mis shapen etc. If I started eating properly will they recover?

Answer
Nail growth and morphology of the body at any time are subject to change. Especially from the nail color, with or without a normal white, we can see whether the health or whether I was pregnant with the disease. In addition, the following 10 different pathological nail can also be seen in a number of clues. This should be pay attention to and take the right approach for the early repair.

1, nails brittle, splitting
Should first identify its causes: First nail in contact with water for too long; Second, dietary protein and calcium, sulfur, and zinc or vitamin A, B, C inadequate; Third, chronic illness or emotional stress in ; Fourth, oral contraceptives; Fifth, nail polish or worn out due to agent. May wish to take the following correction method, respectively.

1 daily for two tablespoons of yeast and 1000 mg of choline, the best of such nutrients by adding fluid or milk orally, which will help to improve nail strength.

2, given the lack of iron can cause nails dry, brittle, usually much better to eat more iron-rich foods, intake of vitamin C would also be required to improve the ability to absorb iron.

3, a day after polishing, no defective nails soaked in warm malt oil or other natural oil for about 5-10 minutes, and then from the fingertips to massage the surface of the stratum corneum. If the nail plate surface with sand slight wear, can easily penetrate into the oil.

4, per night fingers soaked in diluted vinegar solution, it is easy to control nail splitting of the good law. White iodine used in the nail and nail tip below the top of the nail is not only easy to restore curvature and strength, but also hinder the role of cut nails stepwise.

Second, nail changes color fish and Qi
A person suffering from chronic diseases, long-suppressed emotions, smoking, or finger contact with carbon paper, hair dyes and other chemical contaminants can make nail discoloration or staining. If the nails are stained deep, it would be better to wait until the new nail grow out. To promptly remove surface staining, can be used repeatedly rubbing a lemon fingertip, and then add to wash and dry.

Third, nail grotesque
If the chronic lack of protein or iron, usually easy to create almost like spoon-like or flat nails, through improved nutrition that can be corrected. Allegedly wearing artificial nails nail to save fuel moisture, become soft, resulting in upward bending nails, this issue should be increased as appropriate nutrition, removing the artificial nails worn.

4, nails dull
If the nails show wavy and dull, may reveal a lack of protein, vitamin A and B, or reveal mineral deficiencies. This can improve the daily diet and daily multivitamin supplement. Plus 15 grams of vitamin B6 and zinc, etc. can be. Matt is all white nail tips may be suffering from liver disease, then you can please check the help physicians diagnosis and treatment.

5, pale nails
This may be a lack of zinc and vitamin B6 signs of inadequate or because of anemia caused. By improving the nutritional status of diet after the symptoms of pale nails still persist, then ask for advice on the doctor to identify the reasons.

6, nail pitting occurs
A prompt performance of such disease in the body of calcium, protein, sulfur lack of these nutrients from the eggs, garlic achieved, regular consumption of the good.

Ashley Baz

I've recently become very interested in nail art, and I'd like to start learning how to do it. Some good nail polish brands, where I can find good brushes and any other tools I may need. Tips and techniques would also be very helpful.

Answer
There is a website that I will list as the source. Basically you get plates with patterns indented on them (they are seven dollars each and each one comes with 5 patterns) then you have to buy a scraper and an applicator (together they are about 5 dollars, I believe) then you put any kind of nail polish on the applicator and use the scraper to scrape the excess off, then you roll the applicator across it and then roll the applicator again on your nail. This will create the pattern you wanted. They come in things like zebra print but they also have dogs, cats, zodiac signs, letters, chinese symbols, and stuff like that. If you want to create your own nail art, sallybeauty.com has a pretty good selection of nail brushes. The best nail polish brand I have ever used is china glaze, but they are a bit expensive. (6 dollars per bottle) however it lasts a very long time. Also, if you want to do things like acrylic nails and fiber nails there are supplies for that at Sally's as well. I hope I helped! Also, the website listed below IS reliable.

Is there a difference between a nail art paint brushes and a regular one?

well i was thinking of ordering some nail art paint brushes and I'm not to sure weather to get them or not. help please!

Answer
Not really. you can just go to michael's or target and get the smallest and longest bristled brushes you can find. But the nail brushes might be taken a step further in the technique it brings. :)

nail polish too thick image

homesick

I have nail polish that has gotten thick, but I still have quite a bit left. How can I thin it out enough to use it?

Answer
If u have a beauty supply store like sally's or something near by they carry a liquid nail polish thinner. You put a few drops in teh bottle and it thins out like the day u bought it. I use it a lot. Just go to a professional beauty supply store or ask someone who works in a nail salon. And don't put remover in the bottle as suggested by someone else because it will thin for a while but then it will thicken up and ruin the polish. I speak from experience.

Why is my nail polish very thick?

Ashley

Every time i use my nail polish it always get thick and gooey. My mom said to put some nailpolish remover in it, but that never really works very well. She also said to put the nail polish in the refrigerator to keep it fresh. Anything more tips?

Answer
Nail polish thinner should do the trick! If you put a couple drops of nail polish thinner in your nail polish bottle and shake it well, it should come to a regular consistency. Usually you can find them at beauty supplies stores. I bought mine at Sally Beauty Supply: http://www.sallybeauty.com/ You can check if there's a store near you. Hope this helps! :)

My husband died 2 years ago. We were in the middle of having a house built. I used what money I had to try to finish this thing. Got ripped of by shoddy worksmen and "friends". Now I look at a bare house and just have no creative flow or ambition. Where can I get ideas that won't cost me a fortune?

Answer
You could apply to Extreme Home Makeover but your chances of being chosen are slim to none, considering it's popularity.

Gosh, there are lots of things you could do that wouldn't cost anything. Shop at thrift stores, ebay, yard sales. You can find all sorts of things if you really look for them, at very low prices.

Buy some cheap fabric (Walmart has a great selection of fabric and great prices0 in a color or pattern you like and cover dining chairs, sofa, chair, etc. You can also create swags with the material and without buying those expensive things that hold the swags. You can use really long nails...tap them in on either side of the window. Take a length of fabric (make sure you have enough to account for the "twist" around the nail) and drape it down one side, wrap it loosely around the first nail..."swag" it over to the other nail and again loosely wrap and then let fall down other side of window. You can manipulate the fabric to hide the nailhead.

Go to your local hardware or home improvement store and purchase "Oops" paint. This is paint that has not been mixed to a customer's satisfaction and so the store sells it at a very, very, "below retail" price. You are bound to find a color or colors to suit you.

Paint your own border around a room, even if you lack artistic skills. You can buy craft paint, look for a sale at a arts and crafts store, some cheap brushes and create a border. You can even cut out your own stencil, using those styrofoam meat trays. Find a design you like and using a sharp utility knife carve the design from the tray and there you go.

Watch those decorating on the cheap shows on HGTV, they create stuff from nothing and can show you all the neatest tips and tricks for just what you need.

Rearranging furniture, moving items from one room to another, etc. can give you a new and great look.

Search Google, there are lots and lots of great ideas out there. And let your imagine go wild..if you like it do it, even if it seems unconventional. Good luck and I'm sorry to hear that you husband passed away.

How would one go about establishing a small business that makes custom bumper stickers?

Brian

My friend and I want to go into business together making custom bumper stickers for people. For example, someone sends us what they want on it and we make it happen. We know all about the materials needed, and we're raring to go.

The only thing is, we don't really know how to start. How do we make ourselves known? How should we advertise? Will we need some sort of license or permit to sell them? Is there anything else we should know?

All advice is appreciated!

Answer
For a business like this, volume is the only way to make a profit. Custom work is, by it's nature, low volume.
While you are waiting for those determined customers who are willing to pay serious money for vanity bumper stickers, you need to look at some regular and repeatable volume jobs to pay your salaries.
That said, in order to sell to the public, you need to charge sales tax. Go the State Comptroller on your state website and see what the requirements are.
The very first thing is to develop a web site that talks about your custom capabilities, show samples and gives people a way to design and order their own. No matter what other marketing you do, make a point of driving people to the web site.
As for marketing, talk to booster clubs of local schools, all levels, and see if they would contract with you to make their stickers and then they can sell them for you. If their sports teams get to the playoffs, and you can turn them out quickly enough, you might be able to get weekly orders until the seasons are over. (This would be a low margin portion of the business, because the boosters will be selling these for a profit for the teams.)
Talk to small to medium sized local businesses about providing regular customers with bumper stickers. (They, in turn, might offer their clients a small discount for services in return for displaying their stickers. Car washes, nail salons, etc.)
Talk to local radio stations, the types that do contests and promotions to see if you can provide stickers that could be incorporated into their contests. ("I listen to Ray in the morning...")
Talk to the local Chamber of Commerce about getting a list of other new businesses who might be open to this as low cost marketing.
Contact the local conventions bureau and get a list of upcoming conventions and trade shows. Contact those planners and see if you can provide custom stickers for their events.
Contact local event planners and ask if your stickers could be incorporated into local charity events, ("Geezers Fundraising Ball 2009.")
Talk to local live music venues and clubs about producing stickers for upcoming shows.
If you have any local success, talk to the local TV morning shows about getting on their new product segments. Have some samples made with the hosts' name or the name of the show, plus some other designs that show civic or school pride. You will need to have several talking points ready and memorized, because the amount of time you have to talk in these segments can be as short as 60 seconds. The most important thing is to lead people back to your web site.
Go to the library and get a list of all the magazines that cater to hobbys--sports, crafts, nature, gardening, cooking, arts, anything at all. Send a press release to their new product editors along with a sample or two of your work, preferably a sample appropriate to the hobby and/or magazine or editor, ("I think Jane at Cooks Anonymus should get a raise.") (There will be hundreds of these magazines.) With follow up and luck, you may get published as part of their editorial coverage (which is free to you.) Again, the goal is to push people to your web site and that should bring in customers from outside your local market.
Keep a file of any media attention you get and samples of each job you produce. This will help build your reputation and give the company credibility.
Keep your day job in the meantime.
