Think things that we could do during free time. So far I have: nail polish, water balloons, mad libs and cards. I just need ideas that will be cheap, easy, and fun for the girls.

What is are some good nail art kits?

Isabella

My relative is really into doing her friends and her nails. She's actually very good but when she looks at videos online she noticed that they are using different tools than she is? Last time I bought her the polish with the very long thin brushes. I was wondering if anyone knows of some sort of kit which has all the basic tools and possibly a book with instructions and designs??? I don't want to buy a little kid kit though. She's a teen.

How does playing music in school (like in band) reveal stress and increase test scores?

Alex M

Im writing a speech on why music program should not be cut. I need scientific evidence on why music helps children succeed.

Answer
I am always hesitant answering questions of this nature because I don't believe one should study music because it helps "relieve stress" or "increase test scores". One should study music because it is the highest form of performance art.

That being said there are plenty of studies out there. There are also plenty of people who have high opinions of the study of music, because of what I would call "side benefits" of music. You can find a lot of research based material under the advocacy sections of MENC (Music Educator's National Conference) http://www.menc.org/. I'm sure they would be happy to sell you copies of their materials. Although I'm less familiar with it, the Children's Music Workshop quotes several studies that you may site as scientific evidence. http://www.childrensmusicworkshop.com/advocacy/benefits.html.
I ran across this too: http://music.arts.usf.edu/rpme/effects.htm.

A friend of mine sent me a copy of a news article and I found it here on radio Iowa entitled, Huckabee: musical instruments can be "weapons of mass instruction"

http://www.radioiowa.com/gestalt/go.cfm?objectid=7C67B564-903D-76CF-BD1DD137561D0BAD
It has some common sense ideas about why music and arts should be taught.

My personal opinion is that studying music to pass a test is like cooking a nice romantic dinner to raise the temperature of the kitchen. Yes the kitchen will get warmer but we've sort of missed the point - romance and food. Music involves the psychomotor, cognitive, and affective domains where many other subjects only challenge 1 or 2 of those areas. But I think it should be taught because it is the highest form of performance art. I took this train of thought from a composer named Samuel Hazo but he hit the nail right on the head. Ask yourself what is the highest form of English? Literature - an author? What is the highest form of Science? A doctor, a physicist? What is the highest form of Math? An engineer? These people don't study these subjects to become better test takers or to relieve stress. They study them because of a passion for making the world a better place. How is the world made better through English, Science, or Math? By invention or discovery. What is the inspiration of invention or discovery? Creativity. What subject teaches creativity? - music.

Enough - I'm off the soap box. Good luck with your search.

What should i know about Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp?

nail art 4th of july image

Ihavequest

I am going to session 1, violin is my major. This is my first time going to Blue Lake.

So are there outlets for say, hairdryers?
What should i bring?
What should i wear to the dance and things like that?
Also, do they do anything special for the 4th of July?

Please include as much detail as possible. Thank you so much!

Answer
Hello,
My name is Gina and I am going to session 1 as a cello major.
This will be my 3rd time at Blue Lake.
Blue lake is soooooo much fun, You learn a lot, make awesome new friends.
As for outlets, there are a couple of outlets in the bathrooms for hair dryers or flat irons. however there are not any inside the cabins themselves. I would recommend either getting up as early as possible, which would be 6am, the counselors get up between 5 and 5:30 and the campers are not allowed to take showers before 6am and run to the showers, have all of your stuff beside your bed before you go to sleep the night before so that you can grab it and run. my first year the showers were packed in the mornings ( and that was middle school) however last year, only like three girls got up early to take a shower, which was perfect because there are only 3 showers in the bathrooms.
If you are wondering, it is not like a school type bathroom with a wall and shower heads, they are very very small shower stalls with Individuel curtains. My friend was asking me about that the other day.

You should bring all of the stuff that the packing list says, plus I would bring your own case of water bottles or a couple gallons of distilled water and a reusable water bottle. The water tastes like eggs.

Also, bring a seal-able container of snacks, chips, candy, granola bars, that sort of stuff. the camp food is not very good, I recommend sticking to the salad bar for most of the meals, they cant mess that up, lol.

Have a watch with you. You will need it.
You may want to bring some type of pad for your bed, the mattresses are like a piece of foam with plastic over it, very uncomfortable.

The weather over there is CRAZY, it gets very cold at night, bring extra sweatshirts. When you wake up in the morning you are freezing, but by lunch time it is so hot.

You are not supposed to have your cell phone at Blue Lake. If they find you with it they will take it away. Plus you cant get signal in the cabins so just leave it home.

At the dance you have to wear your uniform, dumb I know, but they do allow you to unbutton your shirt, pop your collar and roll up the sleeves and you don't have to tuck your shirt in.

4th of July sucks (at blue lake I mean) they do have a thing in central camp like they play American music, kids dance, they have an American trivia contest and a lot of people wear red, white and blue accessories, like earrings, headbands or paint there nails. but they make you go to bed by like 10 and no fireworks. plus you can hear them going off from the lake as you are laying in your bed all mad.

If there is anything else you would like to know I can probably answer it, just let me know!
btw, What unit are you in? I'm in Siena

Hope I helped !
- Gina :)

What do you use when stamping with Bundle Monster?

Jazzy

Hi There! I currently decided I wanted to buy some new bundle monster image plates for nail art. If you don't know what bundle monster is then well it's like Konad. I was wondering if there was a specific brand of Nail Polish you need to use for the image polish. If you could list some brands that would be helpful or even some websites that carry the answer!

Answer
I have a lot of OPI cream colors that work really well. The general rule is - if the polish covers your nail in one coat, it will be good for stamping. That just means that the polish is well-pigmented and will act most like the special polishes. Opaques and glitters do not get the job done.
You really do need to experiment with what polishes you have to determine if they work.

Search older yahoo answers for a really long list of stampable polishes.

The most readily available polishes that work for stamping are Sally Hansen Insta-Dri. Their polishes are marketed to cover in just one coat, and most of them do, so they are good for stamping.

Milani nail art in electric pink

Revlon Dark pleasures

Klean color nail lacquer (all of them except the glitter ones, the neons stamp perfectly!) (example: Neon green and Beach Blue)

NYC Nail Glossies
NYC Matte for abstract stamping

WetNwild (thick but only stamped 50% of the time for me..) Rectangular bottles, the Round bottles did not stamp at all

Sally Hansen Xtreme wear (some work some dont, the sheer watery ones dont work, but Gunmetal and Emerald city did work)

Sinful colors (pretty much all of them stamped except the glitter and super sheer ones)

Wild N Crazy (every one i stamped worked)

Midie (every one i tried worked except the glitter ones)

Jordana Polish (all of them except the glitter stamped)

Nicka K (NK) they come out pale compared to how they look in the bottle but stamp beautifully

WetNWild Crystallic Brilliance in Plum Crystal (dont own any others but this one worked)

ELF Nail Polish (some coral color, the only one i own but it worked)

Splash Nail Polish in French Chocolate (only one i own, stamped perfectly!)

Jordana Art Deco (some of them dont work, the ones i own with glitter did not..but the black and white do, will try other colors eventually

Your favourite drug store makeup ?

nail polish 2013 collections
on New Nail Polish Fingers Colors Collection : Health & Beauty Tips
nail polish 2013 collections image

osnapitzja

Hi what are some of your favourite drug store products for 2013?!

Xo thanks

Answer
My favorite drugstore brand for eye shadow is NYX, they have drugstore prices but high end quality. Their eye shadows are really opaque. If you want specific products that i like by them, I love the Jumbo Eye Pencils (usually about $4.50) and i also really like the NYX Nude Matte Eye Shadow singles (also about $4.50). If you are getting more than one of the eye shadows they will add up quickly so i also recommend the Natural Eye Shadow Palette, which comes with six colors and is $6.99. I also really think that Maybelline Color tattoo is a really great product ($6.99)

For eyeliner, I love Collection Noir Liquid Black Liner ($5.99) by NYX. I would always recommend liquid over pencil and gel.

Face Products (coverage): . I use BB Cream daily (instead of foundation). I recommend Maybelline Dream Fresh BB (about $8.99). It doesnt have as good of coverage as a foundation would but it has some and I love it. If I had to pick only one product to use forever it would be that. However, if you are looking for a foundation, I have two recommendations for you. The first one is L'Oreal True Match Super Blendable Makeup ($9.99) but be careful if you purchase that one because the shades turn out a little lighter one then the look in the packaging. Also, I like the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup SPF 20 ($12.99). It has great coverage but is a little pricey considering that the bottle is on the smaller side. My favorite face powder is Covergirl Simply Powder Foundation ($8.99).

Face Products (other): I am a huge fan of NYX Powder Blushes ($4.99). They are pigmented but not too opaque. I use Wet n Wild Coloricon Bronzer as a highlighter (I just get it in a light shade). I tried it in a darker shade as bronzer but did not like it (i couldnt find a price, sorry). As for bronzers, I have tried so many different drugstore ones and none have worked out for me. I know that you said only drugstore but I thought that i would let you know what i love Hoola Bronzer by Benefit ($28). It is definitely priced higher but I think it is worth the money.

Mascara: For Volume, I love Covergirl Lash Blast Fushion ($9.50).I use the purple tube but there are a few other options for different reasons. For Length I like Maybelline Volum' Express The Falsies Mascara ($6.99). But, i have to warn you about that one, it gives great length to your lashes but there is a lot of fall out (i dont know if it is just me or not but i thought i would let you know). If you are looking for one mascara that lengthens and gives volume, i havent found a drugstore one yet but I like to layer two so that i can get both. However, I have found a high end mascara that does both and does not have fallout. It is called BADgal Lash by Benefit ($19). You said that you dont have a lot of money to spend so if you decide that you want to purchase it then you can get the travel size which works just as well (it is $10).

Nails: Butter London and OPI are both really good brands. OPI are usually about $9 and Butter London are $15. Even though the Butter London polishes are a little more expensive, they are really good quality and really opaque. My favorite colors are Fiver, Molly Coddled, and Teddy Girl.

Because stores for martial arts supplies sell them in California. I need one because I have been studying nunchaku for a long time and when I moved to California from Las Vegas, I had mine with me, but they began to wear out. So I was wondering...

Answer
Any store that has one in CA is breaking the law if they offer them for sale to anyone other than a licensed school operator.

If you brought your chuks with you to CA from NV, and you are caught with them, you will go to jail.

A lawyer in CA called Harold Vaugn was visited by police in his home for a totally unrelated issue not long after he moved to CA from VA. On his wall was a display board holding a medal he'd won at an international martial arts tournament, and the chuks he'd used to win it - actually NAILED to he display board. He was prosecuted and convicted for possession of them.

I ask this because Jane Campion, one of my favorite directors, is behind the television show "Top of the Lake."

BQ: Did you watch Top of the Lake?
BQ2: Do you think Campion has been influenced by Twin Peaks?
BQ3: Favorite current television show?

Answer
hi : )
nope. absolutely not. it used to be, as tv was regarded as the inferior brother to film, which could be argued was high art, but really since the advent of HBO, tv has seriously upped its game. their john adams series is said cited as being cinematic and excellent, tho ive not seen it.
there's a bit of a migration into tv, for top stars and directors. it offers different opportunities~ to really get into a character, have different plot structures one cant in 120 mins etc, and often to be more creative. with the recession, studios have been more conservative- for every inception there are a million marley and me bits of vapid fluff. there is excellent work on tv.
i adore more films than tv, but wish they were box set long not 90 or 120 mins. people get into tv series much more, and, if well made, actors love working in them- awake, the walking dead, the hour, md men et al.
id say twin peaks is semi cinematic- it starts off film-like, but gets incomprehensibly messy toward the 'end'.

there are older tv series which are INCREDIBLY cinematic- brideshead revisited, from the early 80s, is miiiiles better than the recent film adaptation. the tv series is impossible to discuss without saying 'epic' 'magnificent' etc- its prefect, and very beautiful. it hasnt dated (its set in the 20s- 40s anyway, but lots of period set films fail spectatularly- eg- dirty dancing) as its so well made. plus the score adds heaps. there's a great scene in withnail and i, where theyre walking across the hill in wales, and uncle monty is remembering someone he loved while he was at oxford (uni). the music refers to brideshead, by echoing the brideshead theme. the first portion of brideshead is about unrequited gay love at oxford. you can tell they simply threw money at the production. a really perfect adaptation (book is a classic).
irons is superb actor, and nails the role~ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RYsMO3rBtYY here he is, in the war, back at the house he visited when he was younger, in the 1920s, in love with his friend. perfect music, cinematography, costume, plot, location, performances. miles better than 90% of modern film.

david morrissey discussed film vs tv last week on a film reviews show- you can watch it on yt~ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGmvwR67Uag
he explains actors now sign long- 5, 7 yr contracts, to a tv company, before theyre even offered a job, just as actors used to be contracted to studios in the 30s and 40s. bizzare- but obv he's working in a decent series (from 10 mins in).
he says that the more indie talent from american cinema are going into decent tv series.

the was on tv at christmas, The Girl about alfred hitchcock's relationship towards an actress he cast http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d4ALGg1gzFc tho its only a single tv film, it was excellent, and more cinematic than the actual cinema released film, Hitchcock, out at the same time, covering the period just before The Girl.

anyway, i dont watch much tv, so id not heard of top of the lake. it sounds interesting purely because id welcome seeing something other than the usual california from america or southern england from the uk (i live in london but id LOVE to see stuff from the rest of the uk, as well other countries). all we get from oz are a couple of aussie soaps, and aussie masterchef. nothing from nz or canada. ive never seen anything by her as its not really my bag, and ive never heard her linked w lynch; interesting idea. i watched the trailer and was reminded of wallander.

weirdly, i was thinking about cinematic tv series last night, or rather, the reverse- sit coms. they're usually derided for being trashy and lowbrow, everything cinema aspire not to be, but i watched this clip- and was reminded how tight and brilliant it *can* be. my parents had this on video so i was weaned on blackadder :D stephen fry and hugh laurie (dr house) used to be comedy partners- the sets are tiny, but its just SO perfect. even if youve never seen it before you should be able to appreciate it's excellence. sterling work from all concerned and SO much funnier than big budget bilge like the hangover etc. 3 series (the first series's a stinker, the rest rock) of compact genius. film or tv doesnt need to be gigantic to have longevity, style or brilliance.

difference between emos, gothics, juggalos, scenes, & punks?

Jess

can someone please tell me the difference between all of the above?

I know that:
emos wear black and white, stripes etc. piercings and they have suicidal thoughts.
goth wear black clothing, black boots, wear black nail polish, black lipstick, make their face white etc.
juggalos no idea.
scenes (girls) they have like weird hairstyles? wear rocker clothes, maybe bright clothes.
punks, hairstyle are like mohawks they wear dark colours, wear spike bracelets etc

i may be wrong and i might not be right, i just heard a little about some of them.

please tell me the difference between all of them if you can, thanks!

i just want to know because im curious, i mean, i like this type of style but i dont know if its emo, gothic, screamo or scene...

Answer
Oh dear, this is quite a loaded question.

"Emos" -- Emo's origins can be traced back to the 1980s in Washington DC. It all started out as a music genre known as "Emotive Hardcore". A certain fashion movement was started by the fans of the music, and that seems to be the only thing that remains of the whole thing. From what I can tell, kids who call themselves "Emo" don't really care for the music.

And no, they don't all strictly have suicidal thoughts. I think a majority of teenagers, if not all, have had at least one suicidal thought. Teenagers go through emotional roller-coasters, so it isn't surprising that they're so prone to depression and suicidal tendencies (I know that I went through a depression phase when I was younger). If a kid is genuinely depressed, it isn't because of what they're wearing.

"Scene" -- I'm not entirely sure where, when, or how that movement came about. I'm going to take an educated guess and say that it came about because of a specific kind of music, and it would have been fairly recently. The first time I ever heard of it was about 2006ish when my sister was going through that phase, but I don't know for certain how long it's been around. From what I gather, "Scene" kids seem to be the more colorful siblings of "Emo". Favoring neon colors, wildly-streaked, poofy hair, and more "cutesy" designs.

Juggalos... I actually had to do a quick search on Google to get an idea of what they are. I've heard the term many times, but I've never bothered to look into it. Juggalos, from the little I read, are those who tend to be fans of bands like ICP (Insane Clown Posse). They like sporting Kiss-esque makeup and being obnoxiously flamboyant -- if you ask me.

Punk -- Punk was/is a music genre that started out in the late 70s, but it didn't start to really pick up until the 80s, due to the dominance of genres like Heavy Metal at the time. The most well-known Punk bands/musicians are the Ramones, the Clash, and Iggy Pop. Punk developed it's own subculture consisting of fans who loved the music and formed a fashion and a lifestyle that went along with it. Punks were typically portrayed as being the wild, anti-conforming types. I'd say that Punk is where a lot of the negative stereotypes related to violent behavior that are thrown on the Gothic subculture come from.

Goth -- The Gothic subculture, depending on how you look at it, is the oldest of all of these by far. Gothic imagery has been present in literature and all kinds of art for almost as long as humanity has been producing those kind of things, but the term wasn't actually applied to anything until the first millenia, when "Gothic art" and "Gothic architecture" came about. Later on (1700s) it was used as a label for a literary genre that was described as a mix of Romance and Horror: Gothic Fiction. Even further down the road, a music movement that was a branch-off of Punk started in the late 1970s: Gothic Rock.

The Gothic subculture, mindset, etc., are really best described by the description of the genre: "a mix of Romance and Horror"; it's a Romantic take on Horror and macabre. Those in the Gothic community are those who genuinely enjoy a darker aesthetic.

Response to one of the other answers: Er, what "Gothic religion"? There isn't one that I know of, and so far the Black Council hasn't taken points off of my Goth Card for not adhering to said-religion. Goths don't always have to wear black everywhere. Some Goths don't even wear black at all. "Goth" is in your head, not on your clothes.

Where can I buy Lynnderella Cauldron Drippings nail polish?

I am in love with this nail polish I found online but I've never seen it in a store before, so I'd really like to know where i could get some, in-store or online!

Answer
You have to order it from her blog. She's just one (awesome) lady who does everything herself, so she's not always selling. You just have to stalk her blog and wait to see if she posts about selling again!! She posts her updates here:
http://lynnderella-lynnderella.blogspot.com/
Here is where you can buy just Cauldron Drippings:
http://shop.llarowe.com/Lynnderella-Cauldron-Drippings-Lynnderella-Cauldron-Dripping.htm
It's out of stock now, but I BELIEVE (I'm not 100% sure) it will be available when she opens up her sales again, so just keep checking back to her blog!

What are fun autumn color nail polishes?

I'm going to buy some new nail polishes for fall. Any color suggestions?

Answer
There are alot of different colours you can paint your nails in Fall. I would suggest; dark orange, dark red (possibly a ruby type colour would be great), any type of green except for mint green as I think these look more summer-y, brown, yellow, dark purple and maybe even black as it gets closer to winter. Plus, don't really wear glitter nail polish during Fall, try going for either metallic, matte or even crackle polishes! :)

Right now I'm stocking up on some new fall polishes too. I bought 31 in one week :P Here are some that I bought. I usually buy a range of expensive polishes and some less expensive ones. I'll post some links below of some for you:

Expensive/Better Brands:
Whilst I was searching for some of the ones I bought I found a sale on China Glazes. :D They are a really great brand! I'll post the ones from the website I found. I wish I got mine from this website now! I wouldn't of had to pay £13 then! :')

Cheaper:
At the moment at Superdrug you can get some really nice, cheap polishes as there is an offer on Collection 2000 and NYC. 3 for 2. I bought 3 Collection 2000's for 1.99 and 3 NYC's for 3.79. A really great deal!

Answer
8ty8beauty.com, goddesswithin.com, sally beauty supply are best ones I've found. Not sure about a "set" of 50 though. You can, of course, buy as many polishes as you like and cases, racks are available for storage/display.

Organized way to store nail polish (at home)?

allie

I have a LOT of nail polish. When I say that, I mean at least 90-100 bottles. I used to keep it all in a basket, but I need to dig through it to find the color I want. I've tried searching for ways to organize the polish. My problem is: I don't want to put them all on a wall rack but I can never find any other method to store 90+ bottles. I was thinking of putting them in a shoebox.. Any ideas??

Answer
I have an amazing nail polish rack that can go on a table! I will give you a link. It perfectly displays all of my nail polish, and I have 170+. I have a few that it won't hold but that's okay. I put the excess in a small plastic slide out drawer with the bottle on its side. Here's the link!http://www.amazon.com/Polish-Table-Display-Bottles-Spinable/dp/B0052G15UG/ref=sr_1_31?ie=UTF8&qid=1370655520&sr=8-31&keywords=Nail+polish+rack

Is it healthier to grow out your nails or cut them?

because i heard if you let them grow out, germs can hide underneath your nails. it that true? because im trying to grow it out so i can make cool nail art designs.

Answer
It's healthier to trim nails regularly. I never got the chance to grow mine just for the sake of fashion because i went to a really strict school, but yeah it's Summer and everyone grows their nails so that they can make cool nail art designs. Do grow them and play with em, but trim them after you're done with the designing because dirt collects in them & it becomes unhygienic to eat etc. Plus, you can make designs on short nails too that look very cute & I'm sure you've seen loads of celebs with short and cute nails with nail polish...it looks reallyyyyyyyy cuuute! Have fun :)

what is a casual look to have on short nails?

Awsomeknow

i have short nails and i need to be able to do the look myself. the only nail polish i have is neon shimmer green, pale pink, dark purple, and red. i have a nail art pen to if that helps. plz help me!

Answer
Oh my gosh, your like me... i have short nails too!!! I'm sure that all the colors would look amazing on you but if you want to look the best you can get I would put on like the dark purple or the red. I would put on the dark purple because this way you can't notice how short the nail is. I would put on a red because it is vibrant and it will be an eye catcher! I'm not sure what an nail art pen is but if it lets you add little designs on your nails then what you should do is maybe like add a star or a heart to make your nails look casual but great. I hope this helps alot.

What are the dates for the beginning and end of the following?
-Reformation What happened?
-Renaissance What happened?
-Enlightenment What happened?
-Scientific Revolution What happened?
Also, is the enlightenment and scientific revolution the same thing, but not the renaissance and reformation?

Answer
To start with, historical periods, unlike years, months, weeks, and days, don't have a rigid start and finish. They overlap and blend a great deal.

The Reformation is held to have begun when Luther nailed his 95 Theses to the cathedral door in Wittenberg; this was, at the time, the accepted way to put the university on notice that a professor wanted to open a debate on the subject at hand; in short, Luther, a Catholic monk, did NOT start out with the intention of forming a new school of religious thought. This occurred in 1517, and led to radical changes throughout what is now Germany, and inspired other reformers, such as Zwingli and Calvin. This went on until the Thirty Years' War, which was literally a war of religion, the Catholic nations fighting against the Protestant nations; in such struggles, no one really wins. The conflict began in 1614 and wasn't settled until 1648--an entire generation grew up knowing nothing but war and its accompanying desolation.

The Renaissance is equally fluid. Many feel that its first stirrings were felt in Italy which, like Germany, was really a patchwork of small principalities, duchies, a republic or two (such as Venice), and a lot of city-states. There were also the lands under the rule of the Pope. This was approximate the 13th century, and the new ideas of humanity as being not just evil and bent on evil, but the pinnacle of creation, began to take hold as the learning of the ancient Greeks and Romans began to be rediscovered. Ironically, it was through the Muslims that this learning had been preserved.

It spread northward slowly, so slowly that Elizabeth I, thee daughter of Henry VIII, was considered (like her father), to have been a model of a Renaissance ruler. Keep in mind that the Renaissance is felt to have begun in the 1200's, and she wasn't born until 1533.

The Scientific Revolution began in the later art of the 1500's and reached its height in the 1600's. The study of science was quite fashionable, and by the mid-1600's was no longer the province of men such as Galileo and Copernicus. The middle class was coming into prominence, and many merchants who had made their money took up science as a hobby. This period, in turn, segued into what we call the Enlightenment, in which logic and reason became paramount and religion began to lose its hold over people.

Many of the scientists and philosophers of the Enlightenment--which is most closely associated with the 18th century--professed no religious convictions at all, or were Deists, a system that viewed the Creator as one who had set up the universe ;much as a clockmaker would do in assembling a clock. Then, it was presumed, that the universe was just left to its own devices.

Now, it's true that the Enlightenment was a by product of the Scientific Revolution, but they really can't be considered to be one and the same, because the spirit of inquiry that fueled the Scientific Revolution had spread to other fields, such as philosophy and theology.

Enlightenment thinkers believed int the perfectibility of humankind.

It's certainly something to aspire to, but, alas, we are still humans and all too often the worse part of our nature overcomes the better part.

In the same way, the Renaissance led to the Reformation with its spirit of inquiry and rediscovery of old texts in their original languages, but it was not the same thing.

How long does it take nail polish to dry?

nail polish drying time

nail polish drying time image
Q. I've decided to paint my nails tomorrow before school because I'll be wearing flip flops. How long will it take one coat of light pink ULTA nail polish to dry?

Answer
It will take about 5 to 10 minutes to dry trust me. I have to paint my nails sometimes right before I go on stage and they dry in 5 to 10 minutes. This is the real Miley Cyrus, and I know people say this all the time but this time it really is.

If I wanted to change the color of my honda emblem, could i use nail polish?

prodigy7

I was planning on using red. After the nail polish dries I was going to coat it with a clear nail polish.. Is this possible? Thanks!

Answer
You could but here's some things to consider:

- One, you could spray paint it and THEN cover it in clear nail polish which would be faster, less expensive, and still shiny.
- If you're painting it more than one color, you need a steady hand or some painters tape, otherwise its gonna look like Sh*t.
- The other problem you're going to have is that if you want an even coat, you're going to have to paint it quickly and each coat in one sitting. If you start painting and put it down and it dries, you might eff it up.

If you ever want to take it off you're going to have to use acetone and there's a good chance that the emblems original finish is going to be permanently effed up either from that or from covering it in nail polish.

If none of these things bother you go ahead, but make sure you do it outside because using that much nail polish is going to choke everyone in the house.

I'm gonna go out and buy a "nail dotting tool", because i want to take my nail art to a new level. :) are there any other things you can buy that are good for nail art? Any other tools? Also, where's a good store i can get them from for not to much money?

Answer
You should also get some very fine tipped brushes. You can use these for designs and the larger ones can help you clean up polish from around the cuticles after you finish.
An orange stick, this is what you see in water marbling videos.

You can get everything at Sally Beauty Supply but I'd suggest going to the crafts store a well to see if you can find cheaper brushes.

Have fun with your nail art! :D

What are the best Nail Art dotting tools and brush sets?

Ash

I love doing my nails, and i design with my art deco nail art brushes. For some things, like eyes, it would be handy to have dotters and brush sets. I want to know other reasons why brush sets and dotting sets would be helpful, what other designs i could do with them, and what brand or type is the best. If you have some, are they really worth it? i have used bobby pins for dotters before but it doesn't always work as well. Thanks!

Answer
Go here:

http://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=nail+art+dotting+tool&tag=mh0b-20&index=aps&hvadid=167024228&ref=pd_sl_2bp1lg3ki0_e

It has lots of cheap Professional nail art doting tools there.
Hope this helps...
