Me and my mother don't get along please help!?

Melody

Long story short basically. Me and my mother do not get along. It started ever since 2008 when my little sister was born. My mom's whole life changed I guess. She's been cheated many times by my father(I don't like him). My mother started to ignore me and started to attend to my little sister. Now I'm 14 years old now. So I wanted to hang out with friends and stuff, but I couldn't because she treated me like a baby. Soon my little sister started to get seizures and stuff. Then soon enough my mom claims that I abuse her and stuff when I don't! She even claimed me of pushing her down the stairs and this is why she has seizures, which is WRONG! In 2008, my mother and I got into an argument over something stupid,I don't remember. I was playing on my ps2 and she told me to get off or something and I said why and I mumbled something about the game and played with my nails.. the freakin' lady punched me in my mouth. I was bleeding a lot. I realized now that my tooth hasn't grown, maybe it was because of that! I was only 9 years old! I cried so much, I wanted to go to school and tell the teacher and she said I better not or she's going to do it again. So I didn't I just let it go. This grudge has been on my back for years now. I turned 13 in 2012, I realized that I was still being treated different, I didn't get the things I wanted anymore, and everything I'm into is weird. I always loved anime since I was a baby. I got into a lot since 2011. My mother never really encouraged me into my artwork or anything. In 2012 I was serious about my artwork and watching anime. She thinks it's weird and crap. So in 2013, I didn't get into the high school of my dreams(Preforming Arts school) because my school had no counselor, and my mother didn't even help me with my artwork or judge it to see. I worked my butt off to get in but I didn't. Now I'm stuck in this crappy high school this year. Before my birthday, I wanted to go to AnimeNext with a couple of friends. My friend told me we can share a hotel room together. I told my mother this since January, nothing was done. Everything I say or do she ignores, unless it annoys her. (Happened in June about AnimeNext when I reminded her about it ) She cursed me out so bad. It made me cry. So I went upstairs to go sleep on the cold floor and I was almost killed. She took the blanket and tried to strangle me with it, I COULDN'T BREATHE, I YELLED AND SCREAM FOR HELP AND NOBODY HELPED OR STOPPED HER. When my uncles came downstairs to check she stopped. My older sister was right in the room when it happened. My voice was messed up so badly. I couldn't talk properly. Recently, we went for a walk and she was staring at these gang members and stuff, and the guy asked her "wat you lookin at"? I got very scared and told her to please stop staring at these weird people. She starts yelling and complaining and calling me a pussy and a wimp. She started to curse at me and stuff and made me cry. I have to say I'm very emotional and suicidal, I tried to kill myself about 3 times now. She started to push me and bump into me on purpose. This year I was suppose to go to Europe but do to my Aunt's personal problems I couldn't go. I really want to get away from her this vacation (I'm on school summer break). I can't take this shit anymore, I'm so close to killing myself or she's going to hurt me or even kill me. I can't take it. I'm scared to call the police because they're going to take away my little sister. My dad is worthless, I hate him with my heart, and my grandma lives with me. All my family members are in Europe but its hard to contact them. I need to get away. Please, no rude comments. Just help me.. I'm on my breaking point. I get blamed for everything. All I do is just go on the computer, draw, draw on my tablet, try to make new friends, and other stuff. I can't even have a boyfriend or a good friend... this is just annoying. I can't no more. Help.

Answer
Okay, your mother seriously tried to kill you by strangling you with a blanket...you are NOT safe in your home and you need to get help now. And you need to for the sake of your little sister too. Even if your mom hasn't done anything like that to her, she's quite obviously unstable and has severe mental problems, so who knows if she might even turn on your sister one day and hurt her. I know you said you don't want to call the police but you and your sister NEED to be taken away from your mother. If you have family members that you trust in Europe, then if you guys get taken by CPS hopefully they can get in contact with them so you wouldn't have to go to foster care (but even foster care is safer than where you are now).

Answer
Make sure it's FULLY dry, then try a second coating, and then put a clear cot on the top.

What do I do? (Nail polish)?

Taylor

Well I have been painting my nails all night and I'm using this pink neon color and its all gooey and I have tried putting it in the fridge but it didn't work please help

Answer
Nail polish will eventually turn to be like that if you open the bottle for too long/it has ages. You can save a nail polish that has turned thick/sticky! What I did was I get a nail polish thinner, something like this.

http://www.amazon.com/Seche-Restore-Polish-Fluid-Ounce/dp/B0017ZDH52/

So basically you can put a few drops into the bottle and it will turn to be like a new nail polish again.

Don't put nail polish in the fringe. Just don't. Lol

Hope this helps!

What is the effect of polish on nails.?

Shannon

I had been wearing lime green polish for several weeks. The last two weeks I noticed my big toes around the sides became sore when touched. It felt like my toenail was coming off. One morning, I took the polish off and by that afternoon my toes stopped hurting. When I examined the toe that hurt the most I noticed it the nail was coming away from the side. I have noticed when I wear polish on my toes a while it seems to make my nail more narrow. Just wondering has this happed to anyone else.

Answer
Nail polish can act as a strengthener. I know if I keep polish on my nails they tend to grow longer. But it's important to put a clear coat under your colored polish. Certain colors can stain your nail.

Polish can help your nails to keep the narrow shape instead of weak names that grow out fan-like. Maybe this is the situation with your toe nails.

I think maybe you should also think back to the type of shoes that you're wearing. This could affect and restrict nail growth as well.

If it continues to bother you I would definitely see your family doctor.

who invented nail polish?

Q. i was polishing a minute ago(there pink lol) and i was wondering who invented nail polish? plz tell me

Answer
check this out:
History

Nail polish seems to have been originated by the Chinese around 3000 B.C. The Japanese and Italians thought to have been the first ones to actually to use nail polish.[citation needed] The Chinese used a colored lacquer, made from a combination of gum arabic, egg whites, gelatin and beeswax. They also used a mixture consisting of mashed rose, orchid and impatien petals combined with alum.[citation needed] This mixture, when applied to nails for a few hours or overnight, leaves a color ranging from pink to red. The Egyptians used reddish-brown stains derived from the henna plant to color their nails as well as the tips of their fingers. Today, some people still use henna dyes to draw intricate, temporary designs on their hands in a practice known as Mehndi.
During the Chou Dynasty of 600 B.C., Chinese royalty often chose gold and silver to enhance their nails. A fifteenth-century Ming manuscript cites red and black as the colors chosen by royalty for centuries previous.[citation needed] The Egyptians also used nail color to signify social order, with shades of red at the top. Queen Nefertiti, wife of the king Akhenaton, colored her finger and toe nails ruby red and Cleopatra favored a deep rust red.[citation needed] Women of lower rank who colored their nails were permitted only pale hues, and no woman dared to flaunt the color worn by the queen or king.[citation needed] Incas were known for decorating their fingernails with pictures of eagles.[citation needed]
It is unclear exactly how the practice of coloring nails progressed following these ancient beginnings. By the turn of the 19th century, nails were tinted with scented red oils and polished or buffed with a chamois cloth, rather than simply painted.[1] Even a century later, women still pursued a polished, rather than painted, look by massaging tinted powders and creams into their nails, then buffing them shiny.[1] One such polishing product sold around this time was Grafâs Hyglo nail polish paste.[1] Some women during this period painted their nails using a clear, glossy varnish applied with camel-hair brushes.[1] When automobile paint was created around 1920, it inspired the introduction of colored nail enamels.[1] Michelle Ménard is credited with inventing the beginnings of our modern day colored nail lacquers.[citation needed]
[edit]Constituents

Most nail polishes are made of nitrocellulose dissolved in a solvent and either left clear or colored with various pigments. Basic components included are: film forming agents, resins and plasticizers, solvents, and coloring agents.
Nail polish makers have been under pressure to reduce or eliminate potentially toxic ingredients, including phthalates, toluene, and formaldehyde, from their nail polish.[2][3] In September 2006, several makers agreed to phase out dibutyl phthalate, which has been linked to testicular problems in lab animals and humans, in updated formulations.[3] Though some makers recently agreed to eliminate formaldehyde from their products, others still use the chemical.[2]
[edit]Nail polish in fashion

Nail polish is traditionally worn by women, but it is gaining popularity with men as well, who may apply it to their fingernails, toenails, or both.
Traditional colors for nail polish are red, all types of pink and flesh-colored shades, although more unusual shades are also available, such as yellow, orange and even green. French manicures traditionally mimic the colors of natural nails, with flesh tones on most of the nail and white at the tips. Today, nail polish can be found in nearly every color and shade desired. It is believed that the film Pulp Fiction started a trend for a shade of dark red nail polish during the mid-1990s, after Uma Thurman's character wore Chanel's "Rouge Noir" (known as "Vamp" in the USA) throughout.[citation needed] Black or other very dark nail polish has been popular with goths and punks of both genders since the 1970s, however it has now gained popularity in the mainstream fashion world. Nail polish may also be used to complete an outfit. In this case, women, and occasionally men, match the color of the nail polish to the colors of the clothing.
Colors with glitter and a metallic sheen have also become popular among the teens of today. With the initial red losing its fame, metallic purple and colors with a shade of pearl are gaining the spotlight of the teen's cosmetic world. Clear and pink are all-time favorites.
Also in today's world some popular designs on one nail and can be done with thinner nail brushes (usually the ring finger) or all includes: flowers, strokes of lines and even more detailed designs with airbrush tools usually on acrylic nails.
Some men also wear nail polish (typically fingernail polish). Musicians, particularly of the rock genre, such as Marilyn Manson, Richard Kruspe, Dave Navarro, Steven Tyler, Kirk Hammett, Brian Molko, Lou Reed, Martin Gore, Davey Havok, Gerard Way, Pete Wentz, Bill Kaulitz, Lauri Ylönen, Jonne Aaron & Sir Christus, Ville Valo, Tuomas Holopainen and Alexi Laiho have been known to wear nail polish. In 1997, the cosmetic company Hard Candy released Candy Man, a nail polish brand aimed specifically at men. It featured colors such as Testosterone (gunmetal grey), Gigolo (silver-specked black), Superman (midnight blue), and Dog (deep purple). [4] Many professional men will choose to follow a pedicure with clear nail polish, although black and other darker colors are gaining popularity with more men.
Some types of polish are advertised to cause nail growth, make nails stronger, prevent nails from breaking, cracking and splitting and stop nail biting. Nail polish may be applied as one of several components in a manicure. Fluoride has been proven to strengthen nails, and there are some types of nail polish that contain fluoride.[5]
[edit]Nail polish remover

Nail polish is easily removed with nail polish remover, which is a solvent (usually acetone, sometimes acetonitrile) and often recognized by its characteristic industrial aroma. Other components may include oils, scents and coloring. Polish remover comes in a variety of different packages including individual felt pads soaked in remover, a bottle of liquid remover that can be used with a cotton ball and even containers filled with foam and remover that can be used by inserting your finger into the container and twisting until the polish comes off.

what to use to get finger nail polish out of carpet?

Destiny S

its black nail polish and the carpet is tan what do i use to get this nail polish out the carpet?

Answer
Nail polish is, for practical intents and purposes, a form of nitrocellulose lacquer. Nitrocellulose, the first plastic ever invented, is an excellent coating material for human cuticle, and that's why it's used in nail polish. But if it spills and gets on something unintended, it can make a difficult stain.

To effectively remove any stain, a good approach is to know what the chemical composition of the stain is, and then use a physical or chemical strategy tailored to that chemical, while being mindful of avoiding damage to the item being cleaned.

Applying this strategy to nail polish LEADS DIRECTLY and LOGICALLY to nail polish remover (ACETONE), which happens to be an EXCELLENT SOLVENT FOR NITROCELLULOSE.

Acetone will indeed remove most any nail polish from most any thing. Of course, acetone is such a powerful solvent, that it can also dissolve the item you're trying to clean. For this reason, a trial on a small, inconspicuous area of the stain is ESSENTIAL. Some answerers did recommend nail polish remover, while others recommended other solvents that may work with nail polish. Still others mixed the nail polish remover with water or other reasonable things, partly to dilute the effect of the acetone. I commend them all: they get a gold star!

If acetone won't work out, then one can use physical or physico-chemical means, such as scrubbing and detergents. Here, the goal will be to break the film formed by the nitrocellulose, thereby admitting water and floating chips of the nail polish away from the stained fabric. Some people recommended scrubbing with brush, pumice, and so forth, possibly with some acetone or detergent. They also get a gold star!

What are the pros and cons on getting nail tips?

Iceskaterg

Im a 15 year old girl, and i've always adored nail tips. My mom promised me that once i turn 16, i could get them. (almost there!) I hate the long kind, so I'm interested in the short type ones. However, i've heard some pretty nasty things about them! I would get the gel kind (they are the kind that come off easier right?) I wouldnt get them everytime they fall off, just once and a while. Before I decide to get them, can you list some pros and cons? much appreciated!

Answer
i do my own nails and i personally prefer acrylics as I need good strong nails that last in my lifestyle. gels are nice but they break faaaaar to easily for me. heres some pros and cons of all the different nail enhancement types.

acrylics pro's-
there stronger, more durable and last longer.
they take less time to apply
they dont break
the application is much less drippy and messy
they look natural and beautiful if done by a good technitian
they cost much less than gel's
there is more you can do with them like 3D nail art (its just plain aqard doing it with gel!)
they dont stain as easily as gel

con's
they can be slightly more damaging to the natural nail but not as much as people say, they do NOT ruin your natural nails like people seem to think
you are more likely to have a chance at being allergic to acrylic products than gel products.
the fumes can be overpowering and unbarable to some people unless the salon uses an extractor fan or the odurless monomer/liquid
if you slam or catch them on something, they will hurt more than gel nails as the gel is more flexible and can bend (still hurts though) where as the acrylic is completely stiff

gel nails-pro's
they are healthier for your nails
the products used are fumeless (up close though, the products really smell disgusting ^^)
they bend so if you trap, slam or catch the nail, it wont hurt as much as other nail types
when they have grown out for so long and need filling, itsd not as noticable as acrylics unless you get pink and white ewnhancements.

cons
the application is messy and the pruduct can drip off your nails if not cured under a lamp quick enough
they take much longer than acrylic nails to be applied
each time the nail is cured, your nails will feel this really painful burning sensation on your nails for about 20 seconds, because each nail has to be cured a minimum of 3 times each, it can be painful getting them done.
they are more expencive
they break easily and dont last as long as other nail enhancements
there is a bit of a limit to what you can have done

the mail problem with getting gels done in a salon is that alot of salons cheap out on products and will give you acrylic nails with a gel overlay, so alls your doing is paying more for a fancy set of acrylics.

Fiberglass/silk nail pro's
you dont get more natural looking than fiberglass or gel nails, you dont even know there is an enhancement cause they look so natural, fare more natural than gel!
if you have a crack or chipping on your nail, these can help to repair it
they do no damage what so ever to the nails
they are the thinnest type of extentions but they are really hard
if your can find a salon that does them, they should be cheaper than acrylic nails
they take about the same amount of time as acrylics (can be less)
they can easily be done at home
if you want them to be longer than your natural nail, they dont need a tip or even sculpting, they take the wright shape pretty much on there own

con's
they can break and bend easily but there not flexible
not many salons do them and some that do, they may only use them for nail repairs
they require some upkeep as they can chip an they need some mild filing sometimes
they dont last as long as acrylics but can last longer than gels sometimes, it depends

nail wraps (i.e. minx nails) pro's
these are stick on sheets that adhern with the nail on there own and dry hard
they dont chip or get scratched
they do practically no harm what so ever to the natural nails
there very shiny and there is a huge voriety of prints, patterns, colours and designs that they come in

cons
they cant be used to extend the length of the natural nails as far as I know (if you look it up you might find out otherwise but I have yet to look into properly, ive just looked at the products)
they last up to 2 weeks but and even though they are very durable, there can be some wear of the pattern on thefree edge of the nail
not many salons do them

pro polish by nsi or shellac pollish by cnd

these are just like a nail polish but they are actually a gel and need curing. there not widely used as they are relatively new and could be as expencive as a set of acrylic or gel nails because the products are so expencive. if you where to get a manicure, these should be an option if you would like them.

What is a good nail art pen, and where can I buy it?

I'm looking for a nail polish pen that can be used to make designs and small details, not the 1 stroke nail polish pens.

Answer
honestly, that one chick that answered already is right. The salley hansen nail pens are the best. they are about 8 dollars each and are totally worth it. i bought some for my sister and she made these beautiful leopard spots on her toes. do urself a favor and dont purchase anything online. thats the worst thing to do. just drive over to walgreens, savons, target, or even walmart and buy youself a pair!

How long should you keep nail polish before throwing it out?

Q. I found some polish on a shelf of miscellaneous bathroom items in my linen closet. I know I've had it for a while, I'm not sure how long, but should I use it? A couple bottles are newer and barely used and I like the color, I'd hate to throw them out. I have had a past experience with old nail polish remover about a year ago, as I don't get all girly all the time. The old polish remover literally ate the skin off of my fingertips, had to go to the ER, and be bandaged up for about 1-1 1/2 weeks until they healed on top of using a cream for it. Wasn't good at all, and still don't have feeling in my fingertips the way I used too. I do, just not as great as before. I don't want nail polish to maybe do the same thing. So is it safe to use or should I just toss them to be safe, than sorry?
I forgot to mention that the nail polish remover was non-acetone and was for sensitive skin. Amazing how that did that to my fingers, but it was only about a tablespoon left in the bottle. I'm just not sure if nail polish itself would have the same effect for even a full or 3/4 full bottle. Maybe about a year or so old, that I can think of, not sure exactly how old it is. Thank you for reading and for any replies

Answer
Nail polish usually only gets thicker with age, and the pigment becomes more difficult to redistribute evenly into the base. Try shaking it to see if the polish goes smoothly back into solution, and try applying a coat on one nail to see how thick it is. If it doesn't mix, or it's too thick, toss it.

prayin with nail polish ? or kennah ?

Q. Salam Aleykum!
I know that nail polish isn Haram! But it is kinda not allowed when u wear it while performin ur prayers, cuz the water duzn reach ur nail when u do wudu'.. that's what people say n ulama' as well!! But is there any verse or hadith that prooves it.. or a simulation to this case when Muhammad (pbuh) was alive..! Cuz women do kennah on their hands n nails too.. even though they pray with it.. they say is ok(accordin to sum ulama') !then if nail polish covers nails; kennah duz too.. n in wudu' the water duzn reach their nails as well! So in both cases.. prayers r just not performed as it should be!
I jus wanna know if im right with that?

Answer
Most nail polishes are made of nitrocellulose dissolved in a solvent and either left clear or colored with various pigments. Basic components included are: film forming agents, resins and plasticizers, solvents, and coloring agents.

For one of the absolute requirements for the validity of ablution is that water should come in contact with oneâs skin (unless of course one is suffering from a medical condition that prevents using water). Since nail polish has a thick layer of coating that prevents water coming in contact with the skin, wuduâ performed while wearing nail polish shall be considered as null and void.

Henna, Lawsonia inermis, produces a red-orange dye molecule, lawsone. This molecule has an affinity for bonding with protein, and thus has been used to dye skin, hair, fingernails, leather, silk and wool.

U can see there is no film coating in Henna its a dye used to dye body parts, like hands feet and hair.
as its a dye wudu will be valid.

how do you do marble nail art ?

Sarah

how do you do marble nail art?? when i do it it turns out clumpy

Answer
Hi :) When water marbling, you have to experiment and find nail polishes that work best. (China Glaze brand nail polishes are great for marble art!) The clumps could be coming from the nail polish consistency and/or age or maybe you're waiting too long before dunking your nails in the cup. I hope what I've written below will help you.

What you'll need:

*More than one nail polish (You might have to experiment with a few different polishes to see which respond well to the water marble art.)
*Orange Stick
*Cup
*Room temperature filtered water (or bottled)
*Tape

**Keep a paper towel or napkin handy for accidents.

How to do it:

Tape your fingers around the nail. This will stop the polish from getting on your fingers. Fill your cup with room temperature filtered or bottled water. Quickly and gently alternate between polishes and let a drip each polish each turn fall into the water. When they fall into the water, they should expand to the edge of the cup. If they don't or only go half way, you can assist them but gently dragging the edges of the circle to the edge of the cup with the orange stick. When using the orange stick, you want to not plunge it in the cup but barely touch the tip of the water. Once your target is where you want it to be, use the orange stick to draw your design in the water. Aim your nail at the design and dunk it in. Clean up the polish with the orange stick and pull your nail out. Repeat for each nail and remove the tape when you're done with all the nails and the polish is dry! :D

Can you use scotch tape for nail art?

Wonder

People, seriously. I am not an idiot. Please stop copying and pasting links to sites that contain who knows what. We all know you aren't a doctor...

Answer
Yup! Just make sure your nail polish is completely dry.. like wait at least 20 min, and then prep the tape by rubbing it on your palm and removing it, a couple of times. This makes it less sticky and easier to remove so that the polish doesn't come off with it. =)

Does anyone know where I can buy nail polish in bulk but not in bottles?

Melisa

I have a new type of nail polish bottle that I want to fill with all natural nail polish. I have found plenty of companies that sell it in bulk in the bottles, but I need to buy just the polish to fill my unique bottles with.

Answer
I don't think that you are going to find a nail polish company that sells a polish not in the bottle. That would make no sense. If you like your bottles that much, buy nail polish and empty it into your bottles.

I LOVEEEE nail art vids. Check out these two youtubers. One shoes her face, the other doesn't. Either way, they are good.
You can do the art on yourself, or someone else, just have a good camera to record vids, a computer to upload, & some editing software. I suggest movie maker 2.6 for free. (the newest version sucks!!!)
