Okay I got this nail polish a while back and I lost it. It was like a pen and the tip was like a marker or a twist lipgloss. Well the whole thing looked like lipgloss. And to get the nail polish out you had to push the tube at the end. I got it at like Walgreens or CVS and its not on their website, or it is and I just cant find it. Please help I love that nail polish.

How do I remove nail polish from bed sheets?

The sheets haven't been washed yet. Using nail polish remover doesn't seem like a good idea because the one time I accidentally got a bit on the bedding it stained it an ugly orangish color. Anything else that will remove the stain or at least lighten it? Thanks in advance.
I would think washing it would be more likely to set the stain...am I incorrect?

Hi..i would try hand cleaner like the mechanics use. It is cheap and can be bought at Walmart or Canadian tire. Rub it on, let sit for a half hour, then wash as usual. I use it for all kinds of stains.

I have sent perfume through the USPS before and didn't do anything but package the bottles carefully and put them in a box to be mailed and never had a problem. I know many people at http://www.basenotes.net/content/ trade and sell fragrances all the time and usually ship them through the USPS. As a matter of fact I recently received four bottles of fragrance from http://www.michaelstorer.com/ that were mailed to me through the USPS. So the short answer is to just box it up and pay for postage and it shouldn't be an issue.

I paid to Priority ship a bunch of little things to my daughter, basically makeups, nail polishes and other funky toys. It was supposed to arrive today and I'm a bit worried they took my $ for the shipping but didn't ship my package cause of the containment. I can't seem to get ahold of anyone to find out where this package is. Would they call me if it was unable to be shipped or just throw it away?

The only thing that would be unsafe is the nail polish which is flammable (the post office will not accept nail polish if they know its there); if they detect it, they may take it out, but otherwise they will deliver or notify. They would never just throw it away. Do yo have a tracking number or an ID number? That will help.

What is a good home treatment for planter warts?

I have skin colored warts on my hands and feet and when I asked my mom about them she said they were planter warts. She thinks they're not worth going to the doctor for, so what are some good home remedies? I have heard of using duct tape, but will that make it spread even more? And also, if you use the method of coating it with nail polish ,can you still use that bottle of polish on your hands or is it infected?

duct tape worked for me! but you have to be persistant. i wouldnt go to the doctors either because i tried liquid nitrogen every two weeks for over a year and all that did was hurrrrt. we also tried banana skin but it was the duct tape that did it! 24 hours on 24 off. for as long as it takes :)

Does Compound W Wart Remover work on Plantar warts?

I have I plantar wart on my foot and I was wondering if Compound W gel work on it or does it only work on common warts? I also heard that painting nail polish on the wart suffocates it and after a few weeks it falls off.

You can't have a Plantar wart anywhere else on your body but your foot, because a planter's wart is what you call warts that develop on your foot. So yes, A planter's wart can be treated with compound w. But you'll have more success if you talk to a dermatologist or your primary health care physician. If it's bad enough they will use liquid nitrogen (dry Ice) to kill the virus at the root.

PS we'll be driving thru Western Virginia, will wave at every VT we see.

Are fast drying nail polishes more damaging to your nails?

My nails have been peeling and breaking a lot for months. I stopped using anything on them and after the grew right out, they were fine. Strong, healthy and no breakage. I gradually started reintroducing various products and as soon as I used my Rimmel 60 Seconds polish on them they seems to disintegrate. Even my toe nails are cracking and breaking. It's really bizarre.

Is it coincidence or are faster drying polishes more damaging?

Would using a base coat protect my nails?

Maybe the Rimmel stuff is just bad. & I was just gonna recommend using a base coat! So yes, a base coat would definitely help & it also prevents your nails from becoming yellow after the polish.. Maybe even try a nail hardener. You can find a Sally Hansen one at drugstores. Hope this helps (:

Getting fake nails with a mechanical job?

So I'm typically pretty girly and want fake nails, maybe even just short ones but I work for a zip line all summer, it is very hands on work.. I can use gloves at work too but do you think I'd be able to handle something like that with fake nails? I've never had them before. Or does nail salon's do nail art on you're real nails?

A lot will depend on exactly what type of manual work you are doing, the length of your nails and your experience doing the work with the long nails. If you start with them relatively short and let them grow you will become accustomed to them and may be able to adapt to some fairly long talons. I am not familiar with a "zip" line so I speak in ignorance. But----what the heck! Give it a try. Long nails can be very attractive.

I would like to learn how to start doing cooler things with my nail polish. I don't have a ton of money to spend on it, but how would you suggest getting started? What tools would I need? If I wanted to do acrylic nails at home, what products do you recommend?

If you haven't already, get down to Dollar General and grab some of their nail polish in the skinny bottles. It's cheap and it has the skinny brush, which is what you'll want to use for designs. Now, if you go on with this and start wanting to buy better quality stuff, great. But for now, I'd start with the inexpensive brands. If you have a steady hand, try some more complex stuff (cheetah print, letters, rainbows, etc). If you have a hard time keeping your hand from shaking, start off with simple French tips and the like. Get on Pinterest, too. There are a lot of cool ideas you can replicate or make your own. If you want to start acrylics, I'd buy a cheap kit first at the drugstore, and give it a couple shots with that before you buy quality stuff. Who wants to practice paint jobs on an expensive car?!

Is the smell of nail polish harmful during pregnancy?

Im 10 weeks pregnant and during my job my friend started cleaning a box of nail polish. Some of the nail polish were broken and it smelled a lot. She was actually pretty close when she was doing this. Can this be harmfull to my baby?

It takes a teeny tiny amount of anything for us to smell it. What you smell goes down either into your lungs along with the air, again this will be a small amount that even makes it this far, or down your throat into your digestive system. Again, this will be very small.
I highly doubt it will do anything to you, let alone your baby. I congratulate you on caring though. If you sat around drinking the stuff, that would be a bad idea. But one sniff is not gonna do anything.

Any secrets to keeping nail polish at tips from chipping?

I paint my nail and within hours there will be a thing line at the tip of my nail where the nail polish has chipped away. I'm sure most people can't see it but it annoys me!
I use a variety of polishes and always get the same problem.
I also tend to use pretty good quality stuff good quality (lots of Nails Inc. London, Chanel and Malvala)
The rest doesn't chip for days - just the tips.

Paint a clear base coat ,wait for it to dry ,paint your main colour ,wait for that to dry then put a top clear coat on ,wait for that to completely dry and soak your nails in cold water ,always works for me. hope this helps.xx

If you are going to the beach then try natural make up (so not a lot but make sure it is waterproof you don't want to look like a panda if your eye liner runs) , for the hair just wear your hair down maybe beachy waves or in a fish tail braid . Clothes wise a funky t-shirt with some demin shorts , sun glasses , nice sandals and maybe a cool on trend hat .

nope!! I do it all the time. But it won't last long at all. mine last only about 3-5 days. my key and my lock is perfectly fine.

Solvents and plastics are not always friends. They interact chemically.

The solvent has already evaporated, so there is nothing to remove.

The color change in the plastic is permanent.

Dog decided to try to do his nails, came home bottle of nail polish spilled on carpet. It's in three spots. Short of tearing up carpeting and replacing, would like to know if it can be cleaned with any cleaning agents.

100% pure acetone should work. Buy 3-5 bottles pour quite bit on the spot and dab it up(repeat as needed). It might take some time but eventually it will come up(depending on type of carpet). My son did the same to our living room carpet. I tried nail polish remover which after 20 min of scrubbing got 60% out. Then I tried the acetone(It is with the nail polish remover. Its just stronger and has no nail conditioner) it came right up in 5 min of blotting. Be careful this stuff will take the paint off your furniture. You may need to shampoo after for the smell.I cant even tell where the spot was on my carpet.It worked great.

Buy brushes, thin brushes to do nail designing. You can buy them at Michael's or a pharmacy for about a buck. Buy some dotting tools. These help you create dots and such. You can buy a pack of them on ebay for a dollar. Buy a different color nail polishes.

Ebay is the only place I have seen them. I have bought them and used them and they're pretty good but not for on natural nails unless you have an hour spare to sit and let it set properly..it really does take that long before they are set hard enough not to smudge. Also, some of the colours just don't work well enough to do anything but dots with them...they won't drag into a shape etc.

Pure acetone works. So does 99% isopropyl alcohol. I've tried the 70% and the 91% stuff, but 99% works best. It's stronger than any of the others. Also, Methyl Ethyl Ketone (an ingredient in many polish removers). Your dad, brother, or neighbor may have some in their garage that you can use. Basically, any solvent should work fine to remove polish. But, some are safer to use than others. Like, do NOT use paint thinner, ever. This is very, very bad on your skin...

Can I just use nail polish remover instead of acetone for a watercolor manicure?

You can wear it, but even if it was waterbased you still have to remove it before wudu just like any other nail polish because it creates a coat on the nail which means the water cannot reach it when you perform the wudu.
FYI, You can wear it after wudu. I mean you can pray while it's on your hands.
