Can you use regular nail polish on a Konad stamping nail art design plate?

ichigofrui

I recently bought some Konad stamping nail art to try, but I'm curious as to whether or not I can use regular polish on the design plates. I understand that Konad polish is more viscous than regular, but would nail polish purchased at a salon, or even Wal-Mart, work the same way?

Answer
There are some regular nail polishes that work but results may vary..some of the polishes that work are:

* LA Colors Art Deco Nail Art
* Boggi Brites Nail Paint in Pink
* Chanel: Vendetta
* China Glaze nail polishes such as Agent Lavender, Aqua baby, Calypso Blue, Emerald Sparkle, For Audrey, IIV, Midnight Ride, Red Stallion.. work great too..
* Essie: Shorty Pants,
* Finger Paints: Butterscotch Cookie, Easel Come Easel Go, Papier Mache, Silver Sculpture..
* Misa: Dirty Sexy Money, Girlâs Night Out, Heaven White, I Will Survive, Violetta..
* Nubar: Lemon Sorbet, Orange Cream, Pyramid Purple..
* NYC: Skin Tight Denim
* OPI: Alpine Snow, Boris & Natasha, Done Out in Deco, Koala Bear-y, Lincoln Park After Dark, Mod About You, Parlez Vous OPI?, Purple With A Purpose, Rinse Charming..
*Orly: Country Club Khaki, Pointe Blanche, Rock on Red, White Tip
* Sally Hansen: Black, Diamond Strengths 6154-08 Mesmerizing, nsta-Dri Mochachino, Navy Venom, Xtreme Wear Golden Nugget, Xtreme Wear 6213-10 Indigo
* SpaRitual Impression: a true red, Primitive, Surreal, Silver Chrome
* Wet ân Wild: Black Creme, French White Creme

Konad's special polishes are specially formulated to be much much thicker then regular nail polishes (remember, do not use these polishes as a base) and made specially for stamping nail art purposes so you get high quality results each time. however, if you are looking to try out other nail polishes look for nail polishes that are thick, opaque..

Is it safe to use nail polish and hair dye during pregnancy?

nail polish remover pregnancy image

confused m

Today my husband asked me if nail polish is safe for me to use during my pregnancy because of the fumes. I remember hearing that hair dye isn't safe either during pregnancy but I dont' remember if it was from a reliable source or not. I've tried looking it up on the internet but can't find a clear answer.

Answer
It's fine to color your hair when you are pregnant. The only problem is that your hormones have changed, which changes your hair, which can make your color not what it was supposed to be.

Some people say that the chemicals can be absorbed into your skin and can harm the baby, but no studies have been done on it, which is why some doctors will say to stay away from it for the first trimester. If you normally color your hair, and it makes you feel better about yourself, then do it and don't worry about it.

Fingernail polish and remover are fine. Just use them in a well ventilated area. You don't want to breath the fumes and pass out. But the chemicals won't hurt your baby.

Trust me, not only as a medical professional, but also as a cosmotologist. I have colored many peoples hair when they are pregnant, and when I was pregnant, and had mine done when I was pregnant and both my babies are fine.

If you are worried about it, talk to your doctor.

Why does my blood not clot in a glass vial?

Michelle

Hello. A few years ago when my husband and I started dating, we bestowed each other with blood necklaces, each the same kind of vial, one containing my blood for him which I obtained by paper cutting my fingers, and one his blood for me, which he obtained by using a sterile syringe. The blood in both never clotted and no anticoagulants were used. I made him another blood vial this year when I was pregnant with our child, for the sake of the pregnancy hormones in my blood, drawn via sterile syringe. It is still a liquid, never clotted. The clasp on my necklace broke and I lost his vial of blood. He made another one for me by drawing blood yet again with a sterile syringe, and within 24 hours there was a massive blood clot filling the whole vial. The cap was glued on with super glue. I soaked it in nail polish remover for a day and twisted it off gently with pliers. I cleaned the vial of the clot with rubbing alcohol and the cap and my husband then filled the vial again by pricking his fingers with lancets. Again, a blood clot formed within a day. I don't understand why my vials of blood never clotted, and why my husband's first vial I lost never clotted, but the new ones he has made keep clotting. No anticoagulants were ever used. My blood has remained in a liquid state and I'm wondering how he can make another vial without it clotting like mine and like his old one from a few years ago.

Answer
test your clotting time.

What is your take on parabens in beauty products?

nail polish for fall 2012 image

Jenny

I think that even though there isn't solid evidence that parabens cause cancer, it would be better to be safe than sorry.

Answer
Don't worry about all that icky stuff. I buy the cheapest shampoo - Garnier for Normal Hair.

It's what you eat, and how you style your hair that will damage your hair or not grow normally.

The FDA believes that in low concentrations (up to 25%) parabens are safe for topical use. Most cosmetics have a concentration of 0.3% paraben or lower. In addition, studies on mice, guinea pigs and humans have shown that parabens do not remain in the body but exit rapidly in your urine (example: âSafety Assessment of Propyl Parabenâ Food and Chemical Toxicology 2001). This means that they are not building up in your system but are moving through and out of your body.

Parabens are known endocrine disrupters that are not only detrimental to human health, but also destructive to animal hormones and development. Studies have found higher levels of parabens in tumors from human breast tissue, but, because the potential damage to the endocrine system has yet to be proven, the controversy surrounding the toxicity of parabens is still being debated.

Women in the study with highest concentrations of these chemicals, called phthalates, in their bodies were more likely to have diabetes than women with lowest concentrations, the researchers said.
Phthalates are found in a variety of products, including nail polish, hair sprays, soaps and shampoos. The findings suggest that phthalates could disrupt blood sugar metabolism, said study researcher Tamarra James-Todd, of Brigham and Women's Hospital's Division of Women's Health.

Phthalates are present in certain medications and medical devices, and its possible women with diabetes have higher phthalate concentrations in their bodies due to the use of these medications or devices, James-Todd said.
James-Todd and colleagues analyzed information from 2,350 women ages 20 to 80 who took part in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, between 2001 and 2008. As part of the survey, participants underwent physical exams and provided urine samples.

HEAT & CHEMICALS are hair's worst enemies. People violate those 2 together, Relaxers and anti-aging or skin lightening products both contain ingredients causing cancers like formaldehyde or
Hydroquinone. There are many ingredients, that we BUY EVERYDAY, to avoid to keep us all healthier. Henna, the more natural way to dye hair, ALSO contains chemicals.
Examples all the fresh fruits & vegetables are full of toxic. UNHEALTHY FOODS: 10 Dirty Fruits & Vegetables. For beauty products go to cosmetics info dot org.

But avoiding everything, we won't have a life would we?

Everyone is preaching buy organics. But Google organics, they are confusing, too! Gives me headache every time I read something, but people keep buying supplements which are being shipped from China, that are also causing us health problems. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) doesnât have to approve supplements â no agency in the United States does. Because of inadequate quality control and inspection, supplements contaminated with heavy metals, pesticides, or prescription drugs have been sold to unsuspecting consumers. And FDA rules covering manufacturing quality donât apply to the companies that supply herbs, vitamins, and other raw ingredients. One example GREEN TEA: Green tea extract supplements have been linked to several cases of liver damage. Green tea extracts might make liver disease worse.
Beginning in February 2008, they experienced one symptom after another: diarrhea, joint pain, HAIR LOSS, lung problems, and fingernails and toenails that fell off. FDA has received numerous reports of harm associated with the use of these products, including stroke, liver injury, kidney failure, heart palpitations, and death. 3-15-11.

Natural hair means no relaxer, no chemical to straighten your hair out, no styling heating tools. The way it grows out your root, thatâs the way you rock it.

how much does it cost to go to paul mitchell the school?

kacy

i'm wanting to start this coming up fall and was wondering how much it would cost a year?
and is there financial aid?

Answer
Call the school.

BTW: I would never use Paul Mitchell again! I was a model for one of their shows and I was given shampoo samples. I tried it once, it smelled so good! I left it on my tub, and I didn't use it again. But when I went to clean my tub, I lifted up the bottle and there was a ring around the bottom of the bottle. I couldn't clean the stain, it was hard to clean. I thought, if that's what it does to my tub, then I don't want it for my hair! Shampoos are meant to clean, not stain my hair or tub. That was in the '90's.

Many beauty & hair products now have LABEL INGREDIENTS and DISCLAIMERS, specially makeup, they are required to put labels so consumers are aware to watch for chemicals: DBP, TITANIUM, MERCURY, HYDROQUINONE, FORMALDEHYDE, or Toluene solvent, that causes cancer or harm us. In other words, less is MORE.

How did bob marley die?

adrian r

I'm just curious

Answer
In July 1977, Marley was found to have a type of malignant melanoma under the nail of one of his toes. Contrary to urban legend, this lesion was not primarily caused by an injury during a football match in that year, but was instead a symptom of the already existing cancer. Marley turned down doctors' advice to have his toe amputated, citing his religious beliefs.[42] Despite his illness, he continued touring and was in the process of scheduling a world tour in 1980. The intention was for Inner Circle to be his opening act on the tour but after their lead singer Jacob Miller died in Jamaica in March 1980 after returning from a scouting mission in Brazil this was no longer mentioned.[43]

The album Uprising was released in May 1980 (produced by Chris Blackwell), on which "Redemption Song" is particularly considered to be about Marley coming to terms with his mortality.[citation needed] The band completed a major tour of Europe, where they played their biggest concert, to a hundred thousand people in Milan. After the tour Marley went to America, where he performed two shows at Madison Square Garden as part of the Uprising Tour.

The final concert of Bob Marley's career was held 23 September 1980 at the Stanley Theater (now called The Benedum Center For The Performing Arts) in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The audio recording of that concert is now available on CD, vinyl, and digital music services.

Shortly after, Marley's health deteriorated and he became very ill; the cancer had spread throughout his body. The rest of the tour was cancelled and Marley sought treatment at the Bavarian clinic of Josef Issels, where he received a controversial type of cancer therapy (Issels treatment) partly based on avoidance of certain foods, drinks, and other substances. After fighting the cancer without success for eight months, Marley boarded a plane for his home in Jamaica.

While flying home from Germany to Jamaica, Marley's vital functions worsened. After landing in Miami, Florida, he was taken to the hospital for immediate medical attention. He died at Cedars of Lebanon Hospital in Miami (now University of Miami Hospital) on the morning of 11 May 1981, at the age of 36. The spread of melanoma to his lungs and brain caused his death. His final words to his son Ziggy were "Money can't buy life". Marley received a state funeral in Jamaica on 21 May 1981, which combined elements of Ethiopian Orthodoxy and Rastafari tradition.[46] He was buried in a chapel near his birthplace with his red Gibson Les Paul (some accounts say it was a Fender Stratocaster).

On 21 May 1981, Jamaican Prime Minister Edward Seaga delivered the final funeral eulogy to Marley, declaring:

His voice was an omnipresent cry in our electronic world. His sharp features, majestic looks, and prancing style a vivid etching on the landscape of our minds. Bob Marley was never seen. He was an experience which left an indelible imprint with each encounter. Such a man cannot be erased from the mind. He is part of the collective consciousness of the nation.

So he died of cancer

How to get water at room tempreture?

Igloo

Im doing a water marble nail art and need to get a bowl of water at room tempreture. Could someone explain to me how to get tap water at room tempreture?
Im sorry i've just realised i put this in the wrong category!
Also if i should leave it sitting, for how long?

Answer
Yes, simply leaving it in the room will get it to the temperature of that room. How long it takes depends on several things. The volume of water, the temperature adjustment required, container shape (that the water is in) etc. I would say for water straight out of the tap, it would take a bowl full about 4 - 6 hours to equalise with the room.
If you have a thermometer, you could half fill from the tap and add warm water in small amounts. Checking the temperature as you do will speed things up a lot. If that would not affect your hobby, of course...

EDIT
I don't want to sound patronising here, but it might. If you do have a thermometer, remember to note the room temperature first before mixing the water to attain it. Leave the thermometer in the room for 5 minutes before taking a reading. Don't place it near or on heat or cold sources like radiators, direct sunlight, metal surfaces and so on. Best of all is to suspend it in the middle of the room.

I used on of those nail polish remover pads to clean my CD and now it messed up my CD badly and looks nasty on it. I can't even play my CD! How do I remove it? Any suggestions?
The nail polish remover pad is acetone free.

Answer
You don't, the CD is wasted. The nail polish remover has destroyed the plastic the CD is made from. Nail polish remover has a chemical in it that eats plastic. The chemical is called Acetone. Next time you clean your CD's use something like denatured alcohol or plain water.

How to get rid of the smell of nail polish remover?

Q. I accidentally got nail polish remover on my rug.it only got on a small part but I don't want to it to permantely smell like nail polish remover on that part or stain it.got any simple, easy tips to make it go away?

Answer
If its a small amount then dont worry about it. It will turn into vapor. The smell of nail polish remover doesnt stay.
If your that concerned about it, use a mild liquid soap (like hand soap), and take a wet rag and rub it out then take a dry clean cloth and blot up the wet spot. DO NOT use a lot of soap. about 1 small drop will do it. You dont want the rag to be soaking wet, just wet enough to be able to wash out the soap.
Or you can just take a vacuum cleaner to it. Use the hose to suck up the moisture.

What is the best itinerary for a week in San Francisco?

I'm planning a trip to the Bay area in March, to visit U.C. Berkeley and sight see, and I'm having some trouble nailing down exactly what to do there. My mom and I, I'm only 17, have agreed on going to Berkeley and a day trip to Big Sur, but that's about it. We'd be flying in on a Thursday and departing on the following Friday. This leaves quite a few days unaccounted for...any suggestions? Any advice would be appreciated.

Answer
Anytime you visit a new city it is advisable to borrow or purchase a guide book, it will give you info on cost, accommodations, dining, attractions, public transport and weather.

Here is my Must Do San Francisco

1. Ride a Cable Car, the only moving historical landmark in the world. Stop off at the Cable Car Barn at Washington and Mason to get a full understanding of this unique form of transportation. Riding the Powell Hyde line will allow you to see Lombard Street the famous crooked street.

2. Visit Alcatraz, this former prison is the most popular destination in San Francisco. The bay cruise to and from the island will give you the opportunity to see the skyline from the water a unique perspective. It is wise to purchase tickets before you arrive as tours are often sold out http://www.alcatrazcruises.com

3. Visit Coit Tower, Beautiful murals inside, impressive bay view from the tower or Pioneer Park at the base. Then descend Telegraph hill via the Filbert Steps on the east side of the park for a unique view of how folks on Telegraph Hill live, more beautiful bay views and the chance to hear and see the famous Parrots of Telegraph Hill.

4. Golden Gate Bridge, not just a feat of engineering, this 1.7 mile span offers incredible views of The City, the bay and the Pacific ocean. Be sure to visit Ft. Point under the bridge for a different view of this San Francisco Icon.

5. Explore Golden Gate Park, this large urban park can consume a whole day. The Japanese Tea Garden, California Accademy of Science, the DeYoung Art Muesum, the Arboretum, Bison Paddock, and Paddle boats are all worth a look and watch the sun go down over the Pacific over a drink or dinner at the Beach Chalet.

6. Chinatown, the most densely populated portion of San Francisco offers an abundance of shopping, food and unique architecture found outside of Asia. The best place to buy souvenirs to take home to friends and family.

7. North Beach, traditionally the Italian section of the city which has no beach but abounds in quaint shops, great restaurants and The Cityâs best coffee options.

8. Civic Center, the largest collection of Beaux Arts buildings in the US. Home to San Francisco City Hall, with a dome larger than the US Capital, the Asian Art Museum and the Modern San Francisco Library with its San Francisco History Room housing an eclectic collection of city artifacts and photographs.

9. Yerba Buena Gardens, this urban park is home to the Museum of Modern Art the Museum of The African Diaspora, Cartoon Art Museum, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, and the Metreon, it will keep you entertained for hours.

10. Twin Peaks, see The City and the bay spread out at your feet. Especially captivating at night when the lights seem to go on for ever.

What can I get my family for Christmas - little brother and dad especially?

Smart101

I was thinking of going homemade this year. I personally think these are the best gifts( next to electronices - lol), and have a sentimental value. For my mom I was thinking of a beautiful hand-made clay pot I made in art class, and a homemade beauty with bath scrubs, home remedies, molded soap and cute things like that. What I'm really stumped on is gifts for my little brother and dad. Last year, I got my lil bro a spy kit, and my dad - a cool wood project. This year, I'm not really sure what to get them. I was thinking of doing a little scavenger hunt made out of origami(he's a huge fan next to me) gift boxes with coupons, trinkets, and clues leading to the actual gift for my lil bro( 7) . The problem is, I don't know what to do for the actual gift. As for my dad, I am totally stumped. What are some good inexpensive gift ideas? Thx and 10 points for best answer!
