Are fast drying nail polishes more damaging to your nails?

.

My nails have been peeling and breaking a lot for months. I stopped using anything on them and after the grew right out, they were fine. Strong, healthy and no breakage. I gradually started reintroducing various products and as soon as I used my Rimmel 60 Seconds polish on them they seems to disintegrate. Even my toe nails are cracking and breaking. It's really bizarre.

Is it coincidence or are faster drying polishes more damaging?

Would using a base coat protect my nails?

Answer
Maybe the Rimmel stuff is just bad. & I was just gonna recommend using a base coat! So yes, a base coat would definitely help & it also prevents your nails from becoming yellow after the polish.. Maybe even try a nail hardener. You can find a Sally Hansen one at drugstores. Hope this helps (:

Where can I find cheap Rimmel nail polish?

Erikaa;;

I recently bought this 60 second nail polish from Rimmel and absolutely love it to bits and want to get more. Problem is, it is slightly pricy, well I think so anyway, so I would love to know a place where I can get it for a cheaper price.

Many thanks

Answer
i got mine at wal mart for like 3 bucks...
thats pretty cheap in my opinion!

I have this color nail polish: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=google+images&client=firefox-a&hs=7K8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&channel=fflb&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=dBu2UYCQNOHF0QW-rIGAAg&ved=0CAoQ_AUoAQ&biw=1440&bih=807#client=firefox-a&hs=zL8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US%3Aofficial&channel=fflb&tbm=isch&sa=1&q=Rimmel+London+light+Purple+nail+polish&oq=Rimmel+London+light+Purple+nail+polish&gs_l=img.3...18337.20991.3.21367.8.7.1.0.0.0.40.263.7.7.0...0.0...1c.1.16.img.tgZVv48mcYk&bav=on.2,or.r_qf.&bvm=bv.47534661,d.d2k&fp=7bf96177fda1440d&biw=1440&bih=807&facrc=_&imgrc=BqO56XPIpulraM%3A%3BHmJP-CKtbIMetM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252F2.bp.blogspot.com%252F-SHwwKmbgFlc%252FUVhhN1wOVuI%252FAAAAAAAAAFA%252FNvky5cjvrjc%252Fs1600%252FNail%252Bpolish.jpg%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fbeautyaddictionxo.blogspot.com%252F2013%252F03%252Frimmel-london-60-seconds-nail-varnish.html%3B1600%3B800
Do you think it is okay to wear just to my dance club??
BQ: I asked my mum to paint my nails with this color, but she says it's too bold, and I should find another much lighter color. Why won't she let me wear it??

Answer
Honestly, I think it's a dazzling color. But, it all depends on what you're wearing. Maybe if you're wearing a bold colored dress, she might think it would look a little tacky. Color blocking is a thing now though. A few bold colors together is good as long as it matches and isn't too much! Good luck at your dance and with your mom!

How can I paint my nails so it lasts longer and doesn't peel or chip?

--

Also, how long should I let the polish dry between coats?

Answer
Put a clear coat on your nail then put two coats of the nail polish on and then put another clear coat on the top then it shouldn't chip or peal.
It depends on the brand some dry faster then others. Here is something you can do to when it is dry:

Wait like 30-60 seconds after applying, turn on the faucet in your bathroom to very, very cold, like ice cold. hold your hands, palm down and let the cold water hit your hands and flow down over your fingernails (don't put them straight under the water as the pressure will cause the paint to move). the water has to be very cold, but it will speed up the drying process and your nails will be done in no time. i do it all the time! also a bowl filled with cold water & ice works.
