Who gives the names to the different OPI nail polishes?

MaryAlison

I've always wondered about this! I began to think this one day when my mom got a color called "Who comes up with these names?", and ever scince then, I've wondered!

Answer
The marketing board who runs OPI is a group of people. They place a new color in the center of the table and shout out names (all while drinking wine) and having a great time. Who ever comes up with the most creative name, sticks!

I think i watched it on one of those shows like Unwraped or something. But I've been a Nail Tech. for two years. Its a job i would love to have.

If you have tips on nail polish that doesn't chip or dull after two days, it would be appreciated. Thanks.

Answer
Opi, china glaze.
you can get them online, or at sephora or ulta.
also chanel, nars, or sallys to name a few more.
the easiest to get would probably be the sallys, cuz its everywhere. the actual sallys store, or walgreens or CVS.

i really want the opi shatter nail polish but i don't want to go to a salon or something to get it and i don't want to order it offline i would rather get it in person and i was wondering if places like target have it or cvs or walgreens have it... if you have any suggestions please say them... thanks!

Answer
You can buy it anywhere you can buy OPI polishes that regularly come out with the new collections (so even though Target sells OPI, you won't find the new collection there. And no, Sally's, Sephora, and MAC do NOT sell OPI). You can buy it at Ulta, JC Penney salons, Trade Secret, or possibly some salons near you. Recently, OPI sent out another batch of these polishes. My Ulta was totally stocked last time I was there. You can also go to OPIs website (www.OPI.com) and in the top right corner is a "Where to Buy" link.
If you cannot find it, China Glaze has a line of 6 different colors of crackle polish (black, teal, pink, grey, purple, white). You can buy them at Sally's, though they might be sold out as well because they had more colors than just black. You might be able to find these online, too.
There are also other brands besides OPI and China Glaze that have crackle polishes. You'll have better luck searching with the name Crackle as opposed to Shatter. Crackle polishes actually came out back in the 90s by CoverGirl. OPI just renamed it to "shatter".
Some other brands that sell crackles are LaRosa, IsaDora, and Barry M. Also know that OPI is releasing several more crackles in different colors in the coming months.

What are all the OPI nail polish colors that come in blue?

AnonymousW

I got my nails done the other day and I really like the color I chose. Unfortunately, I didn't know what it was called, and now my nails are starting to chip. It was an OPI brand of nail polish, and it was a silvery blue that looked green in the light. Could anyone find all the names of the colors in blue? That would be helpful!

Answer
Hey there =)

If you go to OPI.com and click on "try on this color" you can click on "see all colors"

They have the "blues/greens" options but that does NOT have all the blues. I think there are some blues in "brights" and "suedes" and possibly more.

Good luck!

Nail polish is constantly chipping off my nails, the same day I do them! Are my nails unhealthy?

Q. I've used a few different kinds. OPI works best, but I've been wanting to use Nina Ultra Pro nail polish, but it peels right off! Am I doing something wrong, or are my nails just unhealthy?

Answer
Some people have too much natural oil in their nails for polish. Make sure your nails are dry, go over them with alcohol dabbed on cotton first. Use a really good base coat, one that has an adhesive formula ( can't think of name). If there is a Sally's Beuty Supply near you, ask. Then use 2 coat of polish, letting each one dry, then apply a good top coat, reapply top coat every day or so. Good luck

What are some really good nail polish and where can I buy them?

Alyssa

I have these really bad nail polish that when it dries, I can still see some spots of my nails on it. Can anyone name any brands that actually look pretty and can stay on for some time? Thanks! :)

Answer
I expect people will be pouring info onto you about how great OPI nail polishes are. They are great to be honest. But if you don't want to spend lots of money on buying nail polishes, I would suggest you to try drug store nail polish brand like Sally Hansen for example. The Hard as Nails series has a great range of colour and stays on with no chipping for at least a week or two. They are quite cheap and I think you should give it a try.

Hope this helps :)
