It is 22 X 48 framed art work; On one end there is a nail in a wall stud and on the other end the nail is just in plasterboard. The art rests on those nails. I am guessing as long as the picture is undisturbed it will be ok, and if not - the one end will sag slightly over time and let me know that its not ok. Do you think it will be fine ?

I would highly suggest using screws (less likely to bend) and using a drywall anchor for the plaster board side.
That way you know for sure it isn't going anywhere! :)
