not as far as i know. I've never heard that. I have nail polish that keeps just fine on a shelf, and every nail salon i've ever been to keeps it out in the open. There is a chance, i suppose, that keeping it cold will prevent it from separating, but i don't see the necessity of keeping it frigid.
