Shellac nails vs gel nails?

Cassandra

I'm getting my nails done next week, and i don't know the difference between shellac and gel nails? I have had the gel before and acrylic but never the shellac. Thanks!

Answer
Shellac is a gel polish. It applies like nail polish but wears like a gel. Gel lasts longer than shellac but shellac will last longer than nail polish and it won't chip.

Answer
Hi :)

Acrylic Pros:
*Acrylic nails are more available for purchase.
*They have been around longer, so nail artists are usually better trained with acrylic nails.
*Last longer than gel nails.
*Nail polish stays on longer.
*Easy to fix them yourself, if you accidently break one.
*Lower price

Gel Pros:
*They look more natural.
*Softer
*More flexible
*Odorless
*They don't require dangerous chemicals to remove or put on.
*Easier to cure after removing.
*They require less filling when putting them on.

I think they are both about even. It depends which qualities you care about more.
