okay so i bought some Fing'rs false nails. I've never worn fakies before so im a little bit rusty about the method of application. am I supposed to cut my real nails and apply the false ones? im going for a short, french mani look, but i was wondering whether the real nails should be shorter than the false ones.
also, if i was to apply them using the glue given in the manicure pack, how long would they last??
thanks guys!

Answer
Nails have been an important attribute of woman's beauty. Gradually, the procedure of taking care about nails has become an initial part of our life with its rules and fashion. Today, manicure and pedicure are health and cosmetic procedures of cleaning, polishing, and coloring nails. It is done with cuticle and nail scissors, nail pincers and a lot of other special tools. To color the nails, nail varnish is used.

The history of nail art has gone a long path, which differs from country to country. In many regions of Asia, the very long nails have for a long time been not only popular but also necessary. In many African countries long nails have been an indicator of the magic power. West European women have taken this nail fashion over.

With the increase of fashion and beauty standards during the last 20 years false nails of different types have gained many supporters. The first of the artificial nails types were acrylic nails. Some time later gel nails were introduced. Now they are the most popular artificial nails types worn by millions of women all over the world.

There are two basic methods of fastening false nails. Each of them is used for the certain of the two nails types. Nail extensions are a professional service provided by manicurists. So, your first step to beautiful nails is your step into one of the manicure salons of your location. There you will be offered to choose among the variety of colors, shapes and nails types.

As long as color, length and shape are the matter of your individual preference, there is something to know about artificial nails materials. There are two permanent false nails types: acrylic and gel. Acrylic nails are fastened by putting a thin layer of the material over the natural nail. Special mould is then put over the nail to provide the proper shape, and after the mould is taken away a false nail is put on.

Depending on the chosen method different stuff may be used to paste the false nails. Dry "acryl blend" and "ethy-methacrylate" are the most wide-spread stuff for fastening acrylic nails. It congeals within 30-40 seconds after application.

Acrylic material can be cleaned after twenty minutes by special cleaners. Gel nails congeal under special rays and need much more time. Gel nails are also more expensive but they are considered to be more reliable and less harmful type.

Before the introduction of acrylic and gel false nails types, many women used adaptable false nails that could not hold on for a long time without re-gluing. This kind of false nails is still used, mainly because it can be put on promptly and easily, and don't demand a manicure-maker services. All the false nails types are available at different colors and tones, and often contain different depictions and patterns. In addition, most of the permanent false nails types can be re-colored many times.

Women around the world have already become certain of numerous advantages of artificial nails. They are much firmer than natural nails and you do not need to use special preparations like base coat hardeners and strengthening lacquers to improve them. However, before false nails application your natural nails are cut, so you will need to pass through the nail-lengthening procedure every time you break one of your false nails, and approximately once a month when your nails grow. Otherwise, your hands will have a terrible look.

Together with their advantages, artificial nails present certain dangers. They damage natural nails and much time is needed for complete recovery even after false nails are removed. Besides, both nails-lengthening procedure and artificial nails wearing may cause not only slight damage but also nails diseases.

Therefore, nails, especially the long ones and those damaged by the application of false nails of different nails types, must be treated with care. In addition to aesthetic problems, nails can be affected by nails diseases. Sometimes nails damages and manicure cuts and wounds grow into medical problems, and professional medical help must be provided then. If a nail gets chemical or mechanic trauma, or is hit with an infection, operation is usually needed. The operation is always made under anesthetization at hospital. So, if you notice some problems with your nails or fingers, visit a doctor as soon as possible.

Nails are not only a pretty attribute of an image. They indicate their owner's status, a way of life and even some personal features. Tidy and well-groomed nails are an essential detail of a "real lady's" get-up.
