I have heard that in order to get the best effect you should apply the top coat when the nail polish color is still a bit wet. Is this true? If not when is the best time to apply the top coat to help make the polish last longer?

Answer
When your nail polish is tacky (a little dry, but still damp), you should begin applying your topcoat. I usually wait about 2 minutes. This is how all the nail artists I've ever gone to do my nails, and it always lasts forever! So I copied the method and it works just as well for me :]

Also, make sure to wear a bottom coat to promote even more longevity. Our nails have natural oils in them that prevent the nail polish from adhering properly to the nail, which is why we absolutely must use a bottom coat!

So first use a bottom coat, wait 2 minutes. Then the regular color nail polish, wait 2 minutes. Then the top coat, wait a millllion minutes to dry (or use OPI quick dry drops http://www.beautyencounter.com/619828011039.html )

Have fun!

What nail polish brand has the best crackle effect?

Just wondering.. Anyone know which nail polish brand works the best? I own OPI black shatter and I'm really not enjoying the way it's turning out. Also, is there a certain way to apply the nail polish? Thanks!

Answer
OPI!!!! you are the first person i have heard that doesn't like it. you have to apply the crackle coat before the base coat dries
